I thought it was for screen mirroring?

Mirroring on iOS is wireless. The iPhone connects to the WiFi from the headunit.

Works fine on my android. I use it for mirroring torque pro onto my HU as I'm not really keen on using the XDA patch workaround.

I think that Pixel 3 doesn't support Miracast. I think this is the standard for the DDX, right?

As far as I know yes. I'm using an LG G6 on Android 7.0 for reference.

I was wondering if you could do that...

So when it comes to screen mirroring does it behave like an app? As in, can you close the screen mirror and open up waze or the radio then return to the screen mirroring, or does it not work like that?

not sure if that makes sense.

It will replicate your phone screen on the headunit, and because it has 2 way mirroring will allow you to control it from either the phone OR the headunit touchscreen at the same time. You can view any app you want on your phone while mirroring, but android auto/apple carplay would not be available since the connection is wireless and this specific headunit only supports a wired connection for those apps.

Anyone have issues with Android Auto locking up all the time with this HU? between that, and spotify app not connecting and garbage radio reception I'm about ready to ditch the unit.

S9+ Latest firmware on the HU

First thing I would do is try a different cable. I see that the S9+ uses a USB type-C, and there are a ton of cheap cables out there that are not specced correctly for the newer standard. A cable longer than 3' can also cause issues.

Regarding your poor radio reception, I have no idea. Mine is just as good as the stock headunit... double check connection, see if any wires are loose/frayed?

yea, tried the cable. radio signal i think might be something with the signal amplifier. Im using the carbon wiring harness, so ill have to check the pins on that to make sure its getting power. The spotify issue could be a software version as well. im hoping to try some legacy versions at some point. Bluetooth works for now
