May not seem obvious if wrenching years later but it's vital to keeping the strut happy when the top hat is secured and under load. You can see the tab missing from the strut |

Question as I'm considering ordering B8s for my Spec R Swift springs. If down the road I decided to sell my twin... and I wanted to install my stock springs (STI Ts) would they fit? Would the added compression (I would assume) be a bad thing?

Go with B6 in that case. The extra droop travel with the B6 vs B8 shouldn't be an issue. Swift springs are designed to work with OEM dampers.

Any experience with the next gen BRZ and GR86? I remember they still use the same parts.

Feel better Andrew, it hit me like a truck a few weeks ago. For a day i had an awful fever etc, but the back pain has not gone away. Hope you don't have any lingering effects.

Replaced my old b6 struts with new ones, here is a picture of those “burn” marks.
I love how well new struts cancel out bumps that weak struts do not lol. |

If I'm trying to make a simple FR-S/BRZ to take to the track, would the RCE Yellow + B6 suffice? I'm just trying to get into the sport and learn the ins/outs of HPDE/track days, not set any lap records or be competitive.
Disclosure: I don't have a BRZ/FRS yet. My plan is to eventually pickup an early FRS/BRZ, refresh the suspension, and leave the powertrain stock. It would only be to drive to track days and have fun. Most reviews seem to say people really enjoy the improvement, and it's how the BRZ should've come from stock. |

Absolutely. Will be a good setup but could be further improved with camber bolts to get a bit more front camber, and possibly Pedders top mounts to get a bit more, or camber plates to get more still. On a budget, IMO Bilstiens and RCE Yellows (or Swift Sport springs if you want to go a bit lower) and crash bolts and Pedders offset top mounts is gonna give a LOT of handling bang/$.

I originally bought my daily (2020 FK8 Type R) to track it as well....but like it too much to risk any incidents at the track. So, I'm going to fallback to my second option at the time (FR-S/86) to satisfy the track itch...eventually. |

Agreed, Bilstein B6 with Yellows is a great easy solution for fun track time. Add the Pedders front top mounts and some camber/crash bolts and enjoy.
For wider tires or extra sticky tires then coilovers do make more sense, but if you want to keep it simple then you'll enjoy the Bilstein combo. Spend the rest of your budget on brake pads and mainetence stuff. - Andrew |

Got some fun stuff in the works. Wish the RCE Rally X springs went through, but got the next best option.

People have commented that the B6's will raise a car lowered on springs.
I found even the B8's raised the right height coming from OEM shocks on Eibach Pro Kits. |
