Also next week (since I can't make the Canepa meet) I will be taking the scenic route home from Blox Open House is Fremont. I will be taking Palomares into Pleasanton and then proceeding to Patterson Pass in Livermore if anyone would like to join.

Lol aaaand... Finch ups the ante!

Finch: "I see your Canepa drive and raise you a Palomares + Patterson Pass"
(crowd murmurs excitedly)
PMok: I call.

haha if we leave Blox at the same time yeah I'll join you at least for the Palomares part.

I can't help it. I need a chance to test out my new Yellows that I finally finished installing (with some phone tech support from @Darrellbuddy321, thanks again man). Lol

How do you like the springs so far? Also what did you have trouble with on the install? I just installed my Swift springs a couple weeks ago so I'm curious.

So far they seem awesome. I have only taken a couple free on ramps so far as an indicator but it seems much more balanced and planted.

For the install on the rear I was having trouble getting the strut off as the bolt on the hub got stuck somehow and I couldn't remove it due to angle. Not really sure how that happened, but it did. I was trying to get more wiggle out of the hub and unbolted the lower control arm. Long story short to get things to line up I had to unbolt a ish-ton more and go from scratch. Then it was something stupid that I couldn't figure out at 2am due to frustration. I was following the DIY and I could have got it eventually (the other side took 15 minutes), but I listened to a buddy saying just unbolt this and it'll make it easier. Lol

Ahh ok that's what I figured, cause I had the same issue with the rears. But once I figured out it isn't possible without removing all 3 bolts it was a lot easier. And that bolt on the hub threw me off at first too cause the hole for the bolt on the hub moves around and I thought I broke it or something haha. But then just moved it back and all was smooth from there. The diy doesn't really help for the rear spring install.

Glad to know it wasnt just me and that stupid hub. Lol. But yeah, my instructions from RCE said two bolts and the day said different. All 3 off made the driver side super easy.

Me me me!! Newcastle please! :happy0180: Plus I have air tools, so that makes it a lot easier!

Not to further derail this thread, but we really need to have an install day, cause it looks like a lot of people will be installing springs soon.

Which ones will you be getting?

I know what you mean. I plan to upgrade to the tarmac 0 I little farther down the road.

But I don't have air tools and that would make it a bunch easier. Granted if there is Newcastle I'll show up anyway.

An Install meet would be a great idea, I wouldn't have taken near as much time if I had more help. Haha

Install meet? How do I get in on this? :P I've been thinking about picking up some H&R Super Sports for a while, but didn't know how I would get them installed without the tools myself.

It's just an idea as of now, I guess someone would have to volunteer a garage that we can do this at. Not sure if install meets are an actual "thing" or if other car clubs have done something similar?

I think for install meets, you should get a sticker for each case of beer that you bring haha. @PMok sound good? :happy0180:

That would be the idea behind an install meet, help each other out, learn a little more about our cars, drink beer, etc.
