Brought the BRZ out of hibernation. I kept trying to move the shifter like a foot long each time I shifted because I forgot how short the throws were lol.
After driving the 2000 Civic for a good month, the BRZ feels a little numb. In the Civic, I can hear every little detail from the chassis, road, transmission, etc. You just don't get that feeling anymore from modern cars. Don't get me wrong, the BRZ is still a very good driver's car. Just wish there was a little more NVH. Maybe those R2 coilovers will add that extra NVH. Last edited by ayau; 03-02-2013 at 09:18 PM. |

First time driving a manual transmission in years and I stalled on the first try.
So I test drove a Mazda3, big deal. For $21k it was really nicely equipped, plenty of room, great fuel economy, and good design. They had USB and AUX port inside the, get this, arm rest which even had gaps for wires to go outside if you want. It also had dual auto climate, push button start, rather nice LCD for info gauges, and bluetooth. Definitely getting it at a different dealer though. That particular dealer had $2k in misc "crap" tacked on to all of their new cars. I'm sorry my friends, I have fallen in love with a different car and I must follow my heart. Meaning after a month of dealing with Mazda fanboys I'll be back here debating Meiji era economics, or what the actual circumference of a tire under load is or what RPM is required to get to 60mph (or even 100km/h) without shifting to third. etc. etc. |

Nice cars, easily the class leader in their segment. We've had a number of Mazdas and been very pleased with them. In fact we just traded in our 2010 Mazdaspeed3 on a new 2013 Mazdaspeed3. We're happy. If you have not yet driven a Speed3, I recommend you test one before buying a "regular" one. It is "only" a few thousand dollars more for this turbo sport version and it's well worth it. If you want a sports GT machine with more utility than the BRZ, this MS3 is an outstanding choice and a performance bargain. Whichever model you select in the Mazda3 line-up of models, you'll have a fine car that is fun to drive. I'd be happy to answer any questions if I can. ZOOM-ZOOM!
