I had an accident (oh god, that was ten years ago...I'm so old) and tried to just work through it. About a year of constant nagging pain later I decided to do something about it. I highly recommend a chiropractor and/or message therapy and/or physio. Chiro works best for me, but different bodies will respond differently. A chiropractor put things back where they're supposed to be and will relax the muscles that are pulling it out of alignment. Message therapy just relaxes the muscles but feels amazing. Physio works the muscles to help show them how to relax again.
