see post #5 for a partial run down in CS Not quite the battle I was hoping for as I was unusually (2%+) far off of Mark A, but still kind of cool with 'our' contingent taking 1-4. I would say it was just down to driving as most of the twins were very similarly prepped and there was no obvious/major course advantage/disadvantage for us or the RX-8. I have video, but it is not worth posting ![]() ![]() |

2014 DC Pro Solo - 57 CS - John L.: [ame]http://youtu.be/VCI6Ecse7oI[/ame] I left some time on the left just by not improving on day 2, and I can see a few tenths here and there. However I think I would have needed some exceptional runs to catch Mark. The car probably had it, but it would have been tough. Unlike John, I actually think the RX-8 had a bit of an advantage on these courses. With the extra 30hp the RX-8 is what I would choose to climb the hill, and with almost no transitional elements the RX-8 probably had the advantage with the wider tires/wheels and better suspension in the sweepers. Having driven both I think the BRZ has the advantage in quick transitions (slaloms) which weren't present here. It was a fun weekend though and it was awesome meeting more of the CS crowd that I hadn't met before!

So far it's 3 rx-8's and 2 twins, 1 BRZ (mine) and 1 FRS. It's my first big event and I'm definitely pumped for it. ![]() |

It was a fun and tiring weekend at the DC Pro. It was nice meeting everyone, and I agree that John L found about all the time our cars could on those courses. Mark could get the RX8 going quicker on the uphill launches and was fast on course.
I need to work on my RT/launches a lot more for Pros, but I have a nice benchmark for how much I need to improve. |

How are you guys dealing with this soft rev limiter? Every event this season I have hit it.
Options 1. Bounce once/twice and let it modulate throttle for me. Seems very slow. 2. Modulate throttle so that Im JUST below the rev limiter. Takes my eyes off the track. 3. Shift to third. Only possible in sections with well defined solid brake zones where I can downshift again, or near the end of the track. |

Don't let bounce, slows you down too much. You can set your rev limiter to just below redline. I have shifted to third, but that can bring you in with too much speed.
Does nice spins thou. I have an AT, and this is the only advantage that I have seen. Really quick shifts in these situations. You will have to try various setups. Everyone is different, find what works for you. Best I can say. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

So if I set my rev limiter below redline, will it hit my custom rev limiter and 'bounce' or will it cut throttle? Id like a 'hard limit' even if it is 100 rpm below the red line.

Ok, I can see that. Done the that myself.
Now you probably have done this, but I will mention it for sh...& giggles. The beeper is turned. I have had to test it numerous times because will doubt myself that I even turned it on. Or start to train yourself in understanding the engines tone/feel. You know one of them stupid concepts that work. Sometimes I find that, when I do leave in second for my run, that it hits me that, yes, I should have shifted into third. It is always a learning experience, just keep at it. Run, analyze, test, run some more. And learn from it all. I know not what you really want to here, but then one of the more experienced guys might know something I don't. Hey guys I'm planning on going to the prosolo and the national tour in Lincoln at the end of May. This will be my first event there. I am planning to camp, just wondering if anybody knows if they have showers and bathrooms there? Any information will be greatly appreciated.

No showers at the Lincoln airport. They will have lots of porta potties though.
Your best bet is to beg/bribe somebody to let you take a shower at their hotel room. Plenty of concrete to put up a tent. Not sure if they will allow a tent on the grass. May be to near the fence.
