Who wants to start a petition? I bet if we get 500 names of interested owners, one of the companies will take notice.

I think when they see all of the AS1's out there they'll be chomping at the bit
to get us in as customers.

949 Racing is based out of Industry, CA and they have been incredibly popular with mostly Miata autocross guys and NASA racers. Just recently they started branching out into other Mazda makes, s2000 fitments, and now Subaru fitments.

The NC (3rd gen) miata/mx5 actually shares a pretty close fitment spec to the STI Imprezas, so that's always been an option.

Just in the last year or so it looks like they started considering 5x100 fitments as well.

Quality wise, I put these wheels right up next to the Enkei RPF1; pressure cast, lightweight, relatively affordable wheels. They dont make super high-end forged stuff though, the product line is mostly focused on the budget/amateur racing crowd.

I think mattles is just throwing out the idea that 949 wouldn't be a bad choice if the appropriate fitments were made available

Oh the 5x100 fitment is like tossed in there as a last thought. If Im reading this correctly, its only avail in one offset and one size and one color as of right now.

http://949racing.com/17x9-6ULR-Tungsten.aspx

+48 offset, not exactly a flush fitment.

Offset by itself means absolutely nothing.
The wheels in question would be an inch more "flush" than stock.

And given that they only have 8 such wheels in stock, I'd guess that they've only made one batch of 5x100 wheels so far, hence one size/color. I expect they'll have a full selection soon enough.
