My grandfather, who would never eat cucumbers, once said that he wouldn't eat anything a hog wouldn't eat.

You could throw about any kind of garbage into our hog lot ...... and they would eat everything ....... except cucumbers .....

My family raised hogs (family stock primarily, not for sale) and we often fed them spoils from the garden. My recollection was most would eat anything but some would eat cucumbers and some wouldn't.

I'm the reverse when it comes to food though, I don't eat corn on the cob because I fed so much of it to pigs growing up it just looks like pig food to me.

I feel sorta the same about green beans. Back in the farm, we would plant them in the garden (after working all day planting soybeans); hoe the weeds out of them on hot summer days; hand pick them in late summer; sit under a tree, bushel baskets of them lined up, stringing and snapping them.

Carry them into the kitchen where mom would "cook and can" them in quart Mason jars. Then carry the jars down to the fruit cellar.

Then, all winter long, eat green beans every meal ...... all winter long ......all winter long ........

I just want to know if the debate about the pronunciation of 'Gif' applies in this case.

My wife called them because we were having this argument. I would always call it jizz-d1ck since it sounds vulgar.

When they answered the phone, they pronounced it with a hard G as in "Golf". Gizz-ditch.

I don't buy into that. It's a graphic interchange format, not peanut butter. Wilhite can suck it.
