Anyone else prefer the old model flat piston 86 logo placement on the fender garnish as opposed to the 86 oval on the side of the car?
Personally I'd be fine with neither.

I am fine with the old ones. It is just the having to explain what they are to people over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over....

I like the old ones better mainly because this new one just looks like an afterthought slapped on the side. Don't mind seeing an 86 logo on the side, but the separate one makes the fender look cluttered

Why the fuck does this have >1,000 posts in it?

Edit: Fuel to fire
I'll take: The fender garnish
I'll leave: the button '86' badge sitting behind the front wheels

Or because they are carrying on a conversation without any nefarious self serving motives?

We can always bitch about the steering wheel having a couple of buttons for another couple hundred pages to get it up there

Oh and now were up to 8 lbs of torque gained lol. By the time the car comes out maybe it will be 30. Oh and this guy claims the power comes from a "retuned drivetrain" which would make sense given how small the gain is.

http://www.cnet.com/roadshow/auto/2017-toyota-86/

p.s. looking at these close up pictures really shows how ugly the new mustache is...it's like a fucking bench...And the side vents look cheap as fuck.

"The Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ seem unable to get away from their negative reputation online. The Mazda MX-5 Miata has no problem gaining fans that want an affordable sports car. However, the Toyobaru twins, which also offer attainable performance, can't seem to find a similar footing"

This part of the article really puzzles me. What serious negative reputation follows the twins that also doesn't follow the miata ? We realize that some people don't like their lack of horsepower but both cars suffer from that..

It's like they tell you in grade school, if you ignore the bully and the bully doesn't have any fun he'll eventually go away. Miata fans have been around for 26 years shrugging off the criticism. For every 5 armchair quarterbacks who will never buy a 2 door coupe shitting on the 86 there's 1 guy defending it valiantly in the comment thread of whatever carblog clickbait is top of the shitpile today.

Similar comment threads about the Miata? "lol no power" "girls car" "it's a miata what do you expect? damn don't we all wish they remade the rx-7?" "sighs" end of story.
