Did you ask about add-ons? Still seems like the final order couldn't be done until the accessory catalog is available. Might want to call the Scion support number on the initial email before signing.

I called Scion Customer Experience. The young lady that helped me ran off and asked someone there in charge of the 86 program. She verified that we will receive an email with a 96 hour notification for the next step (signing the price), and that it will most likely not happen until after the accessory list has been approved because at that point we will be basically ordering the car configured the way we want it for the build.

I'm guessing that won't be until after the SoCal trip, but she would not speculate.

Im not commiting until i test drive MY car....it just seems like the smart thing to do incase my particular car is a lemon....

I thought that we didnt have to commit until we went for a test drive?

Ill agree to the price and whatnot but im still driving my car first, my biggest nightmare is the car arriving at the dealer with every young car salesperson grinning because they were flogging it around before i got drive it.....im just picky i guess with it being brand new and all....

Is signing the price done at the dealer or by email? I received a call from my dealer last week wanting to know if I had received the official price list but they didn't say anything about signing the price. But then, the dealer has been somewhat out of the loop about Scion's goings' on.

You're not committing to purchase, you still have the right to refuse pending a test drive. It's simply a signature confirming that you're still interested...I think; kinda strange really.

Its a 4 step process:

1. Agree to be one of the First 86 and put down $500.
2. Agree to the price of the car to be delivered to you.
3. Test Drive
4. Accept delivery of the car and pay the man.

You can back out at any point up to writing the big check and taking ownership. Since the car is technically your special order, the dealership should not be flogging it around. No different than any other special order car.

I think its just in case the final price scares you off. Gives them a chance to move it to someone else.

My understanding is the email will direct you back to the dealer within x amount of time. You'll then sign the second line of the agreement that shows the price filled in.

Just got my flight options from Jeff. Asked him if I can get an itinerary so that I can decide when I want to arrive in L.A., it's only an hour flight from SF, so it isn't too bad. I just want to give myself a little free time but no point arriving at 7am if the earliest event isn't until 8pm.

Jeff also sent me my flight options. The outbound flight to LAX was the one I preferred but not the return home flight. I am thinking about renting a car but want to see our itenerary to see if it will be worth it.
