I'll say it again, most of these wheels are nice but way too heavy on such a low HP/Tq car. I'd love to get fake Rotas or cast wheels and save some money, but they won't offer much performance benefit. For my intents & purposes, any 17x9 wheel in the 15lbs range will do.

Not trying to troll, but what would be considered too heavy and why?

guys, guys-- Its a scion. I dont see a need to blow the budget on $2000+ wheels and not have the proper funds left for tires/brake pads/etc. Im liking the xxr 530 17x9.75, wrap those in 245/40R17 Dunlop Star Specs and have a blast.

ignorance is bliss. ever considered some folks on here may actually have and may not mind spending more money on wheels than perhaps what others would spend and say is relatively "cheap" or "reasonable"??? my goodness.

Lol okay what if it was a Subaru? Could you justify spending the money then?

thats the worst argument you can make considering its a Toyota everywhere else and its the same as the Subaru.

This arguement goes both ways and it's a pretty pointless arguement.

His opinion is that he doesn't see a need to spend a lot of money on wheels.

Your opinion is that you want to.

Neither are wrong as both are simply personal preference. Not wanting Volks does not imply that one can not afford Volks either. Buying Rotas also does not imply that one can not afford Volks (hell I've had both at the same time before).

I agree with him, although I probably won't run XXRs, but I'd rather run cheaper cast wheels and spend the money I didn't spend on Volks on track pads, better tires and a couple of events worth of entrance fees, etc.
