Anybody know a good self-wash car stall place between Mountain View and San Jose?

The seemingly best one I can find is: https://www.yelp.com/biz/rainbow-car-wash-sunnyvale

Washed, tried to detail, and then did tech shine for the first time instead of a wax today:

Finding that some spots don't come out after QD + clay bar. Might need a stronger bar.

Also, let me point out this place sucks and I didn't even get to do a wash here.

Got there about 10:30am. Thought it wouldn't be too crowded on a Saturday morning. Was wrong. Each stall pretty much had a car being washed and another waiting.

Signs say you can't bucket wash if there are cars waiting.

So, yeah, I left.

Looks good, Josh. What is Tech Shine?

Also, what spots are you referring to?

Thanks!

I got a bottle of this: https://aerolon.com/products/tech-shine-16oz-bottle-pad

Works pretty well, I think!

One example of a spot I can't get out (there are a bunch like it).. Guessing it was bird crap or a bug splat I didn't QD soon enough...

There's also one black spot on the hood that I don't have a picture of, but no matter how much QD and claybar I tried on it I couldn't get it out. Thinking it might be road debris or something that got stuck

Cool, never heard of it before (at least I don't remember, but I haz bad memory). Looks like it's a quick way to get some protection and water beading on the paint.

That yellow/orange spot appears to be rail dust. Remember when you asked me what CarPro Iron-X was? Those are the stuff that Iron-X targets.

Black spot may be some tar. A more aggressive clay bar should get it off.

Yeah, I remember that. Does the Iron-X stuff remove this kind of stain or protect against it? Guessing I can't get it out myself?

I have several of this type of color and one that looks more orange-ish.

Yeah, might need to buy a more aggressive one.

It doesn't protect against rail dust. It just helps lift them off the paint. In the past, I've been able to get light/surface rail dust (lighter in color) off with just my Meg's blue clay bar. I ended up having deeper rail dust (darker in color) that I couldn't get off with the clay bar, so that's why I ended up getting some Iron-X.
