The Scion newsletter I got today announcing the price to the subscribers said 3 thousand.

I thought if you choose not to buy it before it comes in, someone else is moved up from the waitlist at another dealer. But I guess if you wait for the test drive and it gets shipped to the dealer its all theirs

If you go on the trip, that would a good question to ask our new best friend Jack. He might have something to say about that, particularly with a First 86 VIN

The real question to ask jack is how to make sure the first 86 are not targets for mark ups

Sold order form at the dealership had "Pure Price = MSRP". You should have already "negotiated" the price with the dealer already.

nope, they haven't even suggested ANY addon or limited edition badges even, the incentive at this point is simply that we get the car a few weeks before the official release date...which is really not an incentive, it just gives them free advertising and hype generation :P

I'm not sure I want anything identifying my car as one of the very first to come out. It's not likely to make it more valuable or anything. I would think that it would detract from the future value more than it would add. It points out that your car is one of the OLDEST FR-Ss on the road. Good think for a '53 Corvette, not a good thing for a car that's a few years old where 100k per year were sold.

The VIN and the manufacturing date on the ID plate will do that anyway. Can't really hide it.

my dealer just called and asked me to come in and sign the intent to buy spot. he said that the car will be sold to me at MSRP and if I end up not buying it after test-driving, they will send the car back! Quite hard to believe.
