Just the OFT stage 1 tune. It's weird since I didn't feel anything really with 93. With 101, it feels like it gets up quicker with 1/4 throttle from standstill. I haven't done any WOT pulls, or drove past 5k rpm, so no clue if that kick continues or is any different at WOT. Also, no exhaust pops or burbles with 101. I get a lot of downshift pops with 91, less with 93, and doesn't seem to have any with 101. Anyone have any idea why this may be?

There are two other factors I think may cause this "more kick" sensation. The oil I replaced was 13 months old, but I don't think that's really a reason. The more probable cause is I've been driving the Yaris with 106 raging ponies. LOL. But then again, that doesn't explain why I didn't really feel a difference with 93 compared to 91, but I do with 101????
I also expected 101 to smell more than 93 or 91 (I let the car idle in the garage for a few minutes after changing the oil before driving it around the block), but that wasn't the case. I didn't really smell any exhaust fumes, and I was right behind the car coiling up an extension cable (put the charger on the battery). With 93 or 91, there is definitely some type of exhaust odor if I let it idle for a few minutes in the garage, like the car is running slightly rich. |

Cusco jack assist ramps give enough room for even my fat ass to get to the plug without jacking the car up. I have the fumoto valve but should be able to get tools on there still

I thought about getting a Fumoto drain plug valve, but was always just concerned something will catch it given my ride height (which I still don't think is too low, lol). |

Now that I'm thinking about it more, I'm getting more paranoid. Given I hear less exhaust pops and don't smell exhaust fumes as much, I'm starting to think that my car runs leaner with higher octane, which could also be the reason why it feels like it has more get-up-and-go. I know it's better for an engine to run richer than leaner. Am I just being paranoid???

OTS 91 octane tune?
I've noticed it performs better with 93 than with 91. I think by default it's a little too aggressive for 91. Regarding pops, maybe the fact that the higher octane is more resistant to combustion is resulting in a cleaner burn? Not sure. Quote:

So i learned that my boss owns a really badass Willy's Jeep. Took him about 5 years to restore it panel by panel (hand hammered in his workshop). I was telling him how I remember my grandpa owning one and how he bought it from a GI after WW2. It had a machine gun turret, a rifle rack and a glove box that was rusted shut (we always joked around that there are some treasures in there lol). By the time I was around, it was on its 3rd engine (a Toyota diesel), had bits of Mitsubishi running gear and some panels replaced with plywood. I wonder if it's still running...

![]() Like race ramps, rhino ramps, etc. Low car friendly and the ramp part comes off once up. Also the fumoto is under the skid plate still if you get the short nipple or no nipple version so you would have to hit something pretty damn good to cause damage that wouldnt happen with a normal plug. |

My other concern with the Fumoto plug is I would still have to get far enough under the car to see and move the lock. That maybe harder than to just feel out a normal drain plug. Thoughts? |

I use ramps to change mine and I'm cool with just the standard drain plug. Easy to take on and off by feel since I can't get a visual on it.
Slightly messy, but meh. I've perfected it. Quote:

I don't mind the normal drain plug, I like it since I feel like the pan gets emptied out more than if it were a valve (how true this is, I don't know). lol |

Oh I used to smoke a cigar and let it drip for an hour+, but now that doesn't matter since I have an oil cooler!
I believe the Cusco ramps would probably work for you. Just drive up onto the ramps and you're good. I have these ramps which are lower and it's a tight fit for me: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Quote:
