Destiny Raid Groups/ General Discussion

I was on early and got the nightfall and weekly done (each twice lol) then had dinner and was too tired to log back on. Sounds like I wasn't missing much, both Destiny and XBL were having some major issues.

Keep in mind you can get the Tempering buff that lasts 12 hours and costs one Mote of Light, but gives you increased rep gain. Was confirmed by Bungie yesterday that it's re-purchaseable throughout the week.

It does go pretty quick. first level is 100, then you can buy the emblem that boosts rep gain by 10% then level 2 is 1200, them you can buy a shader I believe, which boosts rep gain by another 10%. Mix that with the temper buff (which gets stronger each day closer to the end) and levels should come rather quickly. Some of the bounties are pretty easy, I think a few nights of some IB PVP and I'll have the boots, then I'll finally hit lvl30. Just make sure you have a LOT of glimmer, this stuff is expensive, geez...

Yes, I was getting really frustrated yesterday and was cussing Bungie but turns out it was probably not their fault. The MS severs were having major issues yesterday and this was effecting XBL. Fortunately I was able to knock out the Nightfall and Weekly late last night.

BTW, I heard the #3 Crucible ranked player in the world joined our clan the other day. I need to do some PvP stuff with him so I can learn how to not suck lol.

If you mean RoR then I definitely need to check this out! Unfortunately I might leave soon to join a clan consisting of some of my real friends. We'll see how things go.

No issues on my end last night on PS4. I heard XBL was having its own issues though.. I've had the whole zoo though in the past, too.

But at least they have a reference system set up for errors. I mean, if you wanted to figure out what was going on you'd rather google "Destiny pineapple" instead of "Destiny error 0x01681A684C61651EF65165BD-2" right?

After further research @53Driver was correct. In the midst of all the recent game releases Microsoft, has been having major issues with their online servers.

I'd hate to see you go but I understand why. Makes sense to have a clan of people who you actually know. In regards to the #3 Crucible guy joining the clan, I don't know his GT but the clan mate I was playing with this morning told me about it. Said he joined cause he needed some help with the PvE stuff. He offered up his PvP expertise in exchange. I could really use it lol.


I think I've decided to grind Iron Banner this week. I really want to hit lvl 30 and if I pick up the gauntlets from Lord Saladin I'll only need a helmet from the raid. The gauntlets look sweet too, the downside is I'm still only rank 1. Feels like it's taking forever.

Lmao its so funny to see my name mentioned here so much, Bungie picked well haha. Yeah I think I'm going to grind iron banner a bit possibly. I keep returning from the raid empty handed and it sucks (Just keep giving me shards, lots of energy, and atheon's epilogue over and over).

Just to put it in perspective, I maxed out on crucible points for the week about the same time I hit level 3.
It was going fairly quick when I was grouped with my clan but after they all logged off it went downhill. Getting thrown into matches where my team is already down by a few thousand and had no zones in control or other matches where my team just went all over the map and died... Ugh.

Make sure you pick up all the bounties, even the ones you think you won't get (like the 10 kills without dying or the head shot spree). I ended up completing them all.

Yeah I think the PvP stuff would be much more productive and fun playing with a fire team, just like in PvE. So far I've done the Crucible stuff solo and it pretty much sucks lol. I can always tell when I'm playing a team that is working together cause they'll pretty much wreck your shit all game. It gets frustrating!

So does anyone else find it ironic that about 2 weeks ago they did a "community spotlight" on the guy who started Destiny Public Events and then went and changed the Public Event times with the patch?

And many I really want the gauntlets Saladin is selling but this Iron Banner grind is tough.

I'd like to thank @skuts? for letting me tag along with his PvP group today. It was awesome to actually win 4 matches in a row. It helped my points dramatically and got me leveled to rank 3 so I was able to get the Titan leg armor. Now I just need to hit 4 to grab the gauntlets.

I think the increase in events is great! And since the data is crowdsourced, it's easy to update.

Alright.. PSA time kids.

Last night I moved the PS4 up to the bedroom. I was freaking amazed at how much better I was doing. Well, I have a 42" LG in the bedroom, and I'm normally gaming on a 65" Vizio. So it took me a second to realize that everything felt "smoother" and then it clicked. Input lag. I continued to play last night and did well. This morning I hooked everything back up downstairs and then tested for input lag. MASSIVE amounts, completely noticeable. I don't know why I never thought of it before. So I went through the TV menus and found deep in the settings a "game mode." I had used game in the picture settings, but that wasn't the same thing. Turned on "game mode" and input lag is gone.

That change alone has made a big difference in my KD, and why I'm not yelling "what the fuck I pulled the trigger first?!" as often.

So check your TV settings!
