It was about a month btwn the CELs. I don't drive that much. I didn't try and let it clear itself. What I did was pull over to check what the code was for and cleared it.

I only have the Perrin 3" cat back and the intake that came with the JRSC.

Been through 3 plates now and talked to Mocal directly doing testing.
Problem started in winter and I removed the plate during that time.

If you are on the track and depending on the track and oil used it would be easy to hit 245F in a 30 minute session if you are flat out.

Again depends on the fuel, our tracks all run Sunoco race fuels. At autobahn there are race teams onsite who put warnings out for street cars to only use the 100+ octane without cats. They have had plenty of people with issues. It started with guys loosing cats on a Ferrari or GT3 so they warn everyone.

You don't need race fuel on a tune designed for 91/92 octane if the tune is sound, its just insurance. You should be able to know this logging right away on street and first track session.
Maybe I should disconnect the cooler for the winter? I wont be going to the track between October and May anyways and I should not need the oil cooler for street driving.

We can get 93 octane here, but not everywhere. Most of the time I am stuck filling up with 91.

What problem did you have in the winter?

Pat

Took forever for oil to get up to temp and clung around 175. Never was able to get above 195F. Never able to reach 212F to get any moisture out of oil.

Not a huge issue 0w20. But stock oil temps without cooler are normally 195F to 205F without cooler. In winter and up to 212F on a hard run.

If you are running all winter daily just unplug sandwich plate and plug lines. Its not absolutely needed mind you.

I cant speak for JRSC in winter but the Rotrex oil is far more versitile than Vortech so you wont have issues.

Ok Thanks, maybe I can get them to make me a set of oil cooler lines with shutoff valves built in, that would keep things really simple.

There is no need to change any internal engine components on this engine. These engines are solid/reliable (with a proper tune) to about 350+ whp, versus stock numbers of 175whp.

You do need a clutch around 300whp but usually you will only reach this with E85. On 91 octane you will not need a clutch, the stock one works perfectly. As CSG stated, this is plug and play.

Cheers,
William Knose

Minimum of 91 octane. 93 or higher is fine.

97 RON is about 92 AKI, so you should be okay using that.

How is everyone's JR Kit running?

We have all had the kit for several thousands miles now...

It's been one month, about 1200km supercharged, and I got my first CEL yesterday. Seems like the same what @Xerious mentioned just recently. The fault code is P0172: System too Rich (Bank 1).

It was actually a bit scary: I was accelerating from a traffic light (not a hard launch, just normal start), and the car kind of choked, and hesitated for a bit, the engine light and the traction-control lights came on, but in a couple of seconds the engine continued working normally. I stopped soon, checked the fault codes with the Torque, and found that P0172 code. Came home in 5 minutes, visually inspected the engine and the SC system - everything looked normal. The car started and worked without noticeable issues.

I cleared the code to see if it would come up again, and drove to work today - haven't noticed any issues.

I can get some logs from the ECU with the Torque, but what should check? There are Fuel Trim Bank 1 Long Term and Short Term sensors, I guess those are the ones, but what values would be expected for those?
What else to look for?

That is exactly what happened to me. It hasn't happened since but I've had two total in 5k miles.
