San Antonio Meet Thread - Page 73 - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

Guys (and gals), throwing this out there since it's technically a "meet" in San Antonio...

Every Friday evening there's been a Cruise Night at Biff Buzby's Burger Joint. The address is:12702 Toepperwein Rd Ste 130, Live Oak. I'm sure a bunch of you have been there as it's been going on for like the last 7 years.

For those that haven't, it's $5 to park int he designated "Cruise Parking" area, but that also gets you like a $5 off coupon for food (it's pretty good). Most of the cars are classics & musclecars, but you never know what you may see out there. One of the first times I went a year or two ago a guy brought out a pretty nice recreation of the original Adam West Batmobile. I haven't had the time to check it out in at least 6 to 9 months, but I imagine it's stayed pretty constant. The crowd is more mature, and I've never seen any douchebaggery in the times I've been... It usually begins around 5:30'ish and it ends at like 9 or 10...

Anyway, I'm going to head out there this Friday from like 5-7 to hang out with a good Miata buddy, and I wanted to put it out there for any other local Toyoburu friends that wanted to come out and check it out...

Well, several weeks ago I had a one day break from work and decided to hit the roads. It was partly cloudy in SA and slowly got worse the farther I got through the run. Had the GoPro on the dash just to record the drive and got a surprise halfway through the run.

Just got the car back yesterday from the body shop.

Here's the edited video. I need to re-upload it in HD/1080P for the better quality.

Glad you [and now the car] are ok.

I feel your pain having had a similar situation last Saturday night.

I was on the way home from a Miata Club Christmas party when a doe ran into the driver's side of my Miata.

No human injuries [except to my nerves] and my car is still driveable.

Mine is covered under comprehensive, so no ding to the collision rate.

Wow, dislike to both those posts! Glad y'all are both ok and that the cars have (or will be) coming out ok. Deer is always a nagging thought in the back of my mind and you really can never be too sure they won't pop out where you least expect. I've totalled one car and damaged several more thanks to deer.

Been there, done that a few years ago on FM78...big buck just appeared in front of me @ 65 mph at night and bang. My last visit to Jack's!

I give the deer a 3/10 on the landing. Great aerial but horrible landing.

I am definitely getting honed in. I'll be back the 22, so I'm good to go on a 25th run! It'll be the next to the last day of my time off from work.
