Me: can you do a thing?
Help desk: yes, it takes a bit of time but we can do that, would you like us to?
Me: hold off, I need to synchronize this with event X
...

Help desk: look! we just did that thing for you!

Being a librarian who doesn't read is rather like the bartender who doesn't drink.
The proprietor gets a good deal and there's much less wear and tear on the inventory.
Props.

Heading down to the coast tomorrow to preserve the west coast from invasion.
Checked gas buddy for prices and it seems that the only deals are up in Astoria/Warrenton.
On the way back Sunday I'll probably take 202 back toward Clatskanie and the bridge to Longview.

By your assertion the dads in the video aren't cool so there is no conflict.

What sort of installed price is a new water heater these days?
The pressure relief valve on mine started dribbling hot water into the evacuation system last week and I had to shut it off for the time being.
Had a plumber in this morning to see about it and he said he wouldn't touch it with a pole.

I mean, yeah, it's antique 1956 vintage OEM with the house, but I've got some serious mileage out of it and there's sentimental value of a sort.
Think I can pull the body off the rails and put a restomod frame and powerplant inside? AWD?

I asked for him to put in a bid, but I think he may put some swirls in the paint during the process.
depends on the power source, size, and power vent or not. likely $500-1500 all in...

We went with "Bit of Sugar" White BEHR paint for all the bedrooms. I know is only a matter of time until the boss lady decides she wants color back and not plain white. I'm taking bets on how long it will be until that happens. Of course, when she says "We need to paint" she means "You're painting, and I'll be having wine in the living room waiting to tell you how you still need to do another coat."
i don't hate painting. better than doing plumbing at least.

if you get the right paint, you don't need to do more than 1 coat!

I should mention that I didn't prime my walls first before painting.... We had a weird blue mix that looked almost coral blue before and the white barely covers it up with the first layer. But two should do it.

After 20 years in tech I can confidently say there is a huge overlap of people who have anime girls as social media avatars and people who are really, really good at tech jobs. I do not have an anime girl as my avatar on any social media platform, nor should I.

I used to play this game in high-school called Ragnarok Online. MMORPG. Characters were very anime-ish and you get to chat or if you had a Ventrilo channel you could do voice. Made some good friendships, but I started noticing this pattern that people that I added on social media, had anime girls or characters as their avatar. If the guy was decent looking, it was a normal profile picture. Same for a girl. Then the stereotypical Weebs/Nerds both M and F, had the anime character avatar. You had to do some digging to find out how they really looked IRL.

Never played Ragnarok Online, but am familiar with it. The first and last MMO I played was Final Fantasy XI. Turns out MMOs are not a good idea for completionists.

I feel personally attacked by this.
Then again not sure if the "internet haet machine" slowpoke counts.

Oh it was really fun. I kind of miss it TBH. But I lost most of my equipment and it takes some serious grind to get money and good gear. I just fell off the wagon after most of my friends moved on too. The quests were entertaining and the maps were very vast.
