I would think that RTV in the oil may look like an inverse bell curve. |

The bigger risk is the mechanical "chopping" off as the two mating surfaces are torqued together and thin the sealant out to the point that the oil flow can separate it. This is something that will happen quickly but sections that hold on should hold forever.

I found this very interesting, in Kevin Vo's FA24 tear down video, one of the bolts that was removed from the timing cover was caked with WET RTV! Below is the screen shot of the video.

On some of the newer engines they are also starting to apply some kind of sealant stuff when sliding hoses onto fittings. Likely to increase seal longevity? |

Would love to see these available as a potential track upgrade, even if only for peace-of-mind. Thanks for supporting the platform!

I'm about 1k miles from pulling my oil pan a 2nd time and checking the pickup again. Curious to see how much more accumulates as well.

So basically a pan drop at 1k, 5k, and every ~10k is the only way to sleep tight?

Another data point to add to the collection. 2000kms, 3 track days. 2023 Brz. As you can see from the oil pan, all of the excess rtv is still intact. However, the pickup still has rtv, which is likely from the timing cover. |

Some design tweaks coming, but the fitment to the pickup is spot on. It's on there so well, I broke two, removing them :P
