Hey all. My name is Tye. I put a deposit on a '14 BRZ Limited (Satin White Pearl / 6spd Manual) on the 17th and have been (impatiently) waiting for it. It's ETA is 1/3 (though everyday I dream about the cargo ship/intermodal train/semi driver speeding and getting it here earlier).

I decided today was a good day to sign up for the forum, though I've been reading every post I could the last few weeks to learn about the car.

I'm 26 now and since I got my license, I've driven Volvo 240s (after the tenth I lost count). Here's one of my past cars and my current car:

(Past)

~270rwhp (lots of mods) (never dyno'd, but she was faster than my current car at the strip)

(Current)

Last dyno'd at ~250rwhp (lots of mods), since then a bigger turbo and a bit more boost.

(not the best pictures, just what I had handy)

The BRZ is going to be my daily driver, but I know I won't be able to leave it alone. I've already been picking out exhausts and looking at all the different suspension/wheel options. One thing I'm definitely excited for is to have a car that has an aftermarket. 240s have a very small aftermarket (well, the Volvo kind of 240). Part/wheel options everywhere!

I have to admit that I read the CEL/rough idle issue thread and see that some 2014 models are still having the issue

kind of scary. I'm crossing my fingers I'll get lucky.

Sorry for long-winded intro.

Hey Tye, a couple of your Volvo brethren stopped by my house today to buy some tires I had on CL. They rolled up in a similar lowered blue 240 coupe and I remembered seeing your photos. They figured out it was you before I even pulled up the post, haha!
