Just dropping in to say hi.
The BRZ has had my attention for a while, though most of my discussion has been over on RX8Club.com (RIWWP user ID). (Not the GT86, sorry, I have personal problems against Toyota that prevent me from sending money to them on principle) I'm at the point that I will at least be test driving one, and it may come to a breaking point of actually trading in my 99 Miata for it. It would have to blow me away in the Smiles per Mile aspect for me to be willing to part with my 2005 RX-8 for it, but as a 2nd car, I'm thinking I will prefer it over my Miata. It's got all the Mazda-like design goals that appeal to me, the only hinging part left really is how that engine feels. Too harsh, too unsettled, too 'uncomfortable' at high RPM and I will decline a purchase, leaving it for people that would enjoy it more. Time will tell. |

Hey guys. I've been following the site for quite a while, and figured I may as well join in on the fun. Planning get an FR-S or BRZ and probably sell my S2k. Will make my decision when the pricing and equipment are official, but I'm first on the list for a BRZ at my Subie dealer!

New member but been lurking here for months.
When the GT86/BRZ reveal on Nov.30 at TMS came, I couldn't contain myself and registered to post. So here I am. Now that I've gotten an account, I will inevitably start posting here as a regular now. Kinda didn't want that to happen since I already don't have much time for forums (already a regular somewhere else), but oh well, already made it. This car is on my "first car out of college" radar. I will be watching this develop in post-release and in the aftermarket. Hopefully it goes well and that one day, I'll be on the road with an 86 with the rest of you.

Found this forum a week or so ago, around the time of the official GT-86 launch
I've been interested in the car ever since it was first shown as a concept - finally an affordable car built for fun!In Norway we have some rediculous car-taxes based on horsepower and emissions, meaning that the power/emissions taxes alone for this car will total $27.500 (160k NOK), guessing at a final price of somewhere around $70-80k. Still, significantly cheaper than anything with similar handling-potential! Just to scare you all from ever moving to Norway, a Porsche 911 is $240k... I currently drive a 2008 BMW 120d M-Sport Coupe, fitted with a Quaife differential. Best car I have ever owned, but it is approaching the end of it's guarantee period, and I can't seem to get rid of that yearning for a petrol engine...! If the GT-86 is as special as I hope then I might leave BMW for the first time in many many years

been lurking a while, interested in the GT86 since it was first rumoured years ago and loved the original concept.. the release model isnt quite the concept but its sweet enough for me.
getting rid of my Honda S2000 for this - '06 plate (weekend toy) .. hoping the GT86 will be more of an all year round toy. Have ordered it/deposit down on a pearlescent white GT86 with auto (sucker for flappy paddles), heated black leather seats, Upgraded SatNav. Hoping to add a few more bits (TRD) to the order as they become known. Roll on June/July!

Newish member here, long term lurker.
Had two Miatas, both of which I loved. I ended up selling them when I moved last, since I don't have room for two cars. Looks like one of these could work great as One Car Mode. Looking to get an FR-S or BRZ, not dead set on either one yet but leaning BRZ. The rumored stiffer front and softer rear suspension tuning leads me to believe it would grip a little better. Nicer interior wouldn't hurt for DD status either. |

Hi,
Like SL I have also been lurking here for a while. I put my deposit down at my local Toyota dealer on friday! I Ordered it in Red with Manual and No Leather. The Only options they had at the Bedford Toyota were Manual or Auto with or without leather. They said I can add extra closer to the time. No definitive word on pricing, but my guess would be £28k for the auto with leather. The UK spec GT 86 looks like it gonig to be very well kitted out compared to the FR-S in the US (although much more expensive). None the less so damn excited....

i asked for the upgraded SatNav as it was on their options list, but for some reason wasnt on the system to officially add it, so they said they will pop it on for me when the system allows it. i'm also looking forward to seeing some more options added (TRD) that can also be put on the order. this car is going to be immense. ..sounds like it will also be sold out (1000 in year 1) before it hits the shores which will annoy a few people no doubt (that are waiting to test drive it before commiting) ... oh well
