I've been a member since shortly after concept 1 was unveiled, and I am FIRMLY in the 2 camp now, it is just outstanding imo.

On the subject of power though... 250hp for the 'upgraded' model is... well stupid. If the n/a model is 200, 250 could be had with something ridiculous like 4psi with a turbo.

If the base is 200, expect more than 250 for the turbo model...

i don't want a track package that has an a/c delete. if i purchase this car, it will take over DD duties from my truck, and i sure don't want a DD with no a/c. my MR2 already has no a/c, i don't need another car without it.

as if we needed *another* spec sheet, here's what i'd like...

nav
track package:
-manual sport seats
-lsd
-"track" suspension and brakes
-faster ratio steering rack
-more aggressive ABS

cd/mp3 w/ at least 6 speakers, don't care how many cds it can hold
a/c, power windows, power door locks, power mirrors, heated outside mirrors, cruise control
fold-down rear seats
2.0L n/a, 8000rpm redline, 200hp, max 2700lbs

I think the best way Toyota could do it in this instance would be by having EVERYTHING optional equipment. Much like the Trueno/Levin AE111's where the BZ-G model could optionally have everything the BZ-R had as standard, I think the same should be done here - make a Top-version (Non-turbo) and have everything as standard, while also having the base model able to be optioned with anything you want in terms of:

-seats
-suspension
-LSD
-wing (?)
-wheels
-brakes
-etc.

And if a turbo model is introduced/sold, then there should also be a base-model turbo version, with a bunch of optional equipment, and also a Top-model Turbo with everything that is optional on the base model as standard.

Well, that's how I think it should be done anyway... I hate the idea of having "packages" that include groups of similar things, I prefer the idea of choosing to ONLY have what I want!

These seats add way too much money to the price of a sports car. I've seen sport packages(BBK,19" wheels,LSD,Sport Suspension) that have come in cheaper than these overpriced seats as options on cars.

I hate to say it but it seems like a lot of people want what, dare i say it, Scion has to offer... A base car that is pretty much compeltely upgradeable with dealer options. I want this car with that radio and these wheels and that sport suspension but not those racing seats and that spoiler... I have a friend that just bought a Scion and he told me how it worked, they picked their car and added everything they wanted and got it installed; I dont know for sure but I'm guessing other dealerships don't have options like that to be installed aside from simple small things like ash trays, mudflaps, roof racks, bumper guards etc...

My main hope is that they offer a barebones version. It's easier to add HP than to add lightness imo. Ideally it'd be:

- Basic stereo w/ 2 speakers
- roll up windows
- non electric locks (it's seriously no that hard to reach across in a 2dr)
- no cruise control
- no moonroof
- no power seats
- smallest alloy wheels you can fit (I'm guessing 16 or 17")--gonna be getting new wheels anyway.

would want LSD to come standard though. Or at least, as part of an optional track package with nicer brakes.

If it makes those numbers at the crank, boosted or NA, I'd be happy.
Very doubtful to hit 200 lb-ft with even a 2.5L NA. Very hard to make more torque in a engine without boost. Maybe with a very high CR and direct injection they could get close with a 2.5L.

I like the v.2 better

the exhaust shape is nicer
it looks less like the 370z and more like its own car
stock wheels are 100X better
i like the tail lights more
v.2 looks like it has a bigger opening in the front bumper for maximum air flow for a fmic

Do we even know where they are leaning in regards to the car having rear seats?

If it only comes in NA, then I hope that Subaru is the one who makes the ecu (they should anyway since it's their engine and drivetrain). That way, adding a turbo and tuning won't be a real pain in the @$$. Even the NA guys should want this so that they can tune the ecu for N/A mods (which makes a big difference when it comes to N/A mods).

you're right that's pretty hard to do, in fact i think it might just be downright impossible
