I was gona drive this a 370 and a gen coupe. It was over after I drove this. The 370 was expensive even used and I never got out to Hyundai. Like I said I drove I bought it. I drove the hell out of it too and I think I scared the salesman. I paid so little for it I can sale and probably not lose money if I get tired of it

I've only owned my BRZ for 6 months, so for whatever it's worth, I'd do it again. That said, part of me would really like an ATS-V next.

Not 100% sure myself. I'm in a place in my life where I can rarely go to the track, even less than I thought when I purchased the car. There aren't many vehicles at the same price or less than what I paid that I would want, however if I raise the limit to $35k or so there are a lot of interesting options. As I discussed with a friend earlier today, an IS-F and/or an e90 M3 would probably suit my daily driver needs better, and I could always pick up a cheap project car for the weekends.

Nothing's ever certain, but I don't think I'd pick up another twin seeing as I intend to keep mine forever, but I would if mine got totaled.
I would also maybe consider building a drift FR-S with an engine swap in the future. |

I'm toying with the idea of getting a Monogram Series...unless they come out with something just like it... and no, I don't mean RS2.0 similar. Not a fan of the brown interior trim.

Definitely. Even after all these years, there still isn't another sub-2800 lbs. RWD coupe on the market for under $50k. My main issue with the car (engine note) was easily fixed with a UEL header. It's pretty simple to add 100 hp with a carb-legal supercharger if it comes to that. The things that are hard to fix (steering weight/feel, seating position, curb weight, drivetrain layout, transmission, handling) are all very good from the factory.
Of the cars I've owned recently (2009 STI, 2009 Boxster S, 2005 350z, 2011 GTI), I've had the most fun with this one. Just fits how I want to use it.

I'll not be buying this car again. There are too many small problems that irritate the shit out of me. In my 15-minute drive to work, I shouldn't be irritated by my car.

I'd like to have a second one to do some visual mods to, and otherwise just drive it most of the time. I've put 13,000 miles on my 3 series in 9 months, and 9,000 miles on my FR-S in two years. Kind of makes me sad. Quote:
Most cars are general purpose, even most Mustangs. Yeah, they're impractical coupes, but people are aware of that and they get the power they're expecting when they purchase one. The 86 is specific though. It's meant to be a very affordable, raw ass sports car that is only fast when driven as a momentum car. It looks really nice though, so non-car people are taking a big ol' un-lubricated pounding from the great shaft of buyer's remorse on a daily basis with this platform. These are the same people at the gas station that see your FR-S and say, "what's on the dash," as they mean, "is your car fast in the sense of ridiculous top end speeds on a salt flat, because that's what I think fast means." And these are the people Consumer Reports interviews - consumer enthusiasts.

I hate car payments, so that is the only reason I wouldn't buy again. Nothing the car has done cause I knew about its quirks before purchase.
I like cash cars, like my 80 Corolla and 88 Celica Alltrac. |

I can only see some of those people regretting this car if they truly don't know what they want from a car. As someone who drives a lot of mainstream cars, these days some entry level luxury cars and lately things as far up as Maserati Quattroportes, if you haven't made up your mind on what you want then most cars will be a car of regret.
I however have made up my mind and any future car I buy has to fit my specific criteria. There are things it must have in the specs, and there are things I can only confirm through a test drive. If the car aces that criteria then its a worthy vehicle for me to buy. The FRS/BRZ are the only ones to ace my criteria. So I have no regrets, and frankly if I could, I would rather take my car instead of anything I could drive for my company. Yeah, I'd pass on the Maserati, BMWs, Audis, Mercedes and Infinitis any day. |
