Almost every review highlights the fact that the car is under-powered vs what the chassis is capable of handling. Not that professional reviews mean everything but even with the track reviews you will see many cars that are in the same price bracket or cheaper pull ahead in a straight line and the FT86 will almost always catch them in the turns. To say the power in this car is adequate for most people in everyday driving I think is a very fair statement. But clearly a lot is being left on the table with these cars in terms of power.

20 years ago it was a lot easier to make a light car. Off the top of my head, I can't think of another 2+2 rwd coupe that weighs under 3000lbs that is currently in production. There is a reason for that.

Exactly why there shouldn't be any complaints/debate -- it was fairly well spelled out when the car was released. And this doesn't explain why some are so determined to ruin the experience for people who are happy with the car.

It's not like people who enjoy the car as is are ignorant; many (myself included) have come from very fast and capable cars.

Nobody is trying to ruin anything. It's a discussion... If you don't like the topic or other opinions, then press that little 'X' on the top right and leave.

Sorry if we hurt your feelings
