Hands down the worst ownership and dealership experiences ever.

Shame cause this looks such a promising car.
Luckily the RS isn't going to be made in the US.

Germany instead which might be just as bad lol

However, I don't think a lot of the problems will come over. The 2.3L DI engine is like 10 years old now so a lot of the bugs are HOPEFULLY worked out.. some new head designs and such but still.

The AWD system is probably just a Haldex more or less so hopefully no major issues there.

Luckily you can throw a rock in any direction and hit a ford dealership though so I'd try another dealer for sure.

I would imagine that if these are in the low-mid 30s they are going to go like hotcakes. If you're not putting money down and getting in line you probably won't get one the first year.

Has anyone seen expected stock numbers per dealership at all?
They haven't released production numbers. Maybe at Geneva. Probably not. I expect this to be BRZ/FRS like with no real info until the cars are about to ship.

I'm HOPING they'll build and ship them this year but lots of people are expecting a year plus from now before they start shipping out

That is normally the case but here where I'm stationed, there's one dealership and the next closest one is about 120 miles away; just like Subaru. The closest one is about 90 miles away and that's kind of a pain.

I didn't choose this duty station though lol. Oh well. I'll be moving back to California around the end of the year and I already know of 3 dealerships in the nearby area. Maybe it'll be worth checking out.

I hope the US doesn't get shafted. I'd be so bummed if the RS comes here and we don't get all of the performance, OR THE SEATS as the euro model is sure to come with.

This car has been available in Europe for over 10 years. The WRX arrived in 2002, and the EVO and STI in 2003. Why bring it now? All though Ford has taken steps in the right direction with the Mustang and Raptor. Check the Ford website...coming in the fall of 2016....if at all. Oh, and the price?....I bet the STI will be cheaper. High hopes on dreams.

Diversity is a great thing my friend.

I see two STI's a day. Not counting WRX's...

Besides, in the UK the girl next door has plenty of STI's.

Was the RS sold to consumers as a AWD model for those 10 years?

It wasn't. It was a crazy good FWD car, but still FWD none the less.

Are you really complaining the ford is bringing over the RS finally? If nothing else it'll make Subaru improve the STI and dump that POFS EJ engine finally.

Ford is releasing 12 performance cars by 2020 how anyone could complain about that is a mystery to me. Beside the BRZ Subaru doesnt make anything I'd buy.

And STI and Golf R will most likely be priced higher. Hints fromFord say that they will undercut them - at least initially.

Here is hoping you are right since that would put the second MY run at just about my normal trade in point. Would give me a chance to see how good it actually is before I switch.
If as good as it could be I will be on that bandwagon in a flash. Love my FR-S but the way I rack up miles keeping a car beyond 4-5 years does not work for me and a change is always fun!

So...it has pictures of a 2-door hatch and a 5-door hatch. Which is it? If it's a 2-door hatch, sweet. 5-door, I just lost interest....maybe I could buy it in a couple years to use as a winter beater when I'm done with school.

This car may actually entice me to walk into a Ford dealership for the first time in my life. The 90's Escort Cosworth AWD is probably one of the coolest cars we never got and should've been an attainable dream car that was made unattainable. This car is that calling.

I still see it being likely around ~$35-38K here in Canada. Even the ST sells for more than the FRS at just under $28k here.

There are no 2/3 door RSs in this generation. All 5 door. Any 3 door you've seen would be a render or an older generation.

If Evo X and Golf R's are any indication these are going to be at least $45k in Canada.

Unless off the line/straight speed, doubt I'll have much more fun than in a FR-S.
