Ran the run OP posted, starting at 20, heading to Aledo, the 20 cut through Weatherford, down through Lipan, to Granbury, then to Cleburne. There's some construction and a few potholes on Aledo Rd. But nothing too bad as long as you keep an eye out for them. I still prefer taking Old Dennis Rd down to 1189 instead of the 20 - 1189 and all the way down. Old Dennis Rd has some nice curves to it. The Aledo Rd to hwy 5, CR 2009 and CR 2008 portions were definitely fun to drive. Lots of night curves, lots of shifting, only drag came when I got stuck behind a moving truck on Hwy 5 that wanted to go well below the speed limit, then kept me waiting for a few minutes while he wanted to turn left. Looking forward to the spring cruise!

edit - by the way, whole drive took me about 3 and a half hours. That was with a 5 minute pitstop in Weatherford and 5 minutes in Granbury. I used about a quarter and a half tank, but I'm stock just running on 93.

I know I have been absent from this thread for a while but with the inclement weather and the damage it has done to the roads. I will go ahead and do a run and see if maybe we should push the cruise till summer so the roads can be fixed. I don't want any fellow enthusiasts to be stranded on the cruise. Also if anyone else would like to take over planning pm me. Work has slowed down to a halt ( I work in oil) so maybe within the next 30-40 days I'll be able to plan something and get a date set! Also probably a new job as well lol.

I ran the suggested route 3 weekends ago. About 2/3 of the way through my engine failed/blew. Took the dealership a week to replace the engine. $5k if it wasn't under warranty.

Other than that to route seemed fine. No glaring issues with it.

WHAT?! Did they say what caused it?

Piston rod #1 was cracked for some reason.

They would have not replaced the engine if I brought it in before it failed.

I wasn't pushing the car as hard as I have when I went on 86 day.

I can't remember anything that the road could have done that would have caused the engine to fail in any way.
