Now I agree... Fail!
Just don't complain if any new car you buy comes with imperfections, delivery damage, and a lack of cleaning. I hate them for what they did as well but it's not fair to just slap a label over every dealership like that.

Agreed.

While not cool for them to be doing this if the car is destined for someone, I don't really feel like the brief time they spent on the rev limiter will have any effect on this car's life.

On the up side, now we know what the rev limiter is like. Seems like a nice soft rev limiter for a Subaru. Too bad you folks complain so much, I came back to see it again.

And you're right. I accused you of crying about something that is not a big deal. Both Subaru and Toyota do neutral 4k rev limiters. Ever drive a car with a 2-step? ZOMG that motor went from a 250k mile lifespan to a 245k lifespan, if anything. And you responded with the assertion that I'm arrogant for disagreeing with you. And then you spent the rest of the thread telling anyone who disagreed with you that they're wrong.

You are exactly what you accuse me of being. And you hate that about yourself.
You're hopeless...I better leave you alone before you bust a blood vessel in your fit of aggravation...lol

I checked the VIN out today and it's either the wrong VIN or it's a demo car. It's not shown in a dealer's inventory and shows as "A" status which means it's allocated. What's odd though is that it doesn't show allocated to a dealer. If it was, it would show a dealer number that it's allocated to, but it doesn't show any dealer number at all.

re

Thanks for whoever found this video. Scott Clark called me last week telling me that a FRS was going to be in to view only, not to drive.

Look what they did to it, and i didnt even see the vid....

I am not going to buy anything from there, get oiil changed or nothing. I think they messed up our oil pan, because the threads have been worn out, and its leaking oil.....

Def. going to make this popular......

Where are all the people who said this video "was no big deal?" I was hoping that they would have provided video of themselves bouncing off their rev limiter during stationary revving in their own brand new FRS's and BRZ's...

I live near Scott Clark and trust me, I hate passing by their dealership. They left a bad taste in my mouth when I was looking for a FR-S, "market adjustment" and a bunch of stupid dealer add-ons they could not remove.

Now just seeing people with the dealer sticker on their Toyota/Scion makes me annoyed.

I did have the satisfaction of showing up a week later with my FR-S parked out front and was greeted by the same salesman who tried to sell it to me for their inflated prices. That was a fun conversation.

As much as that video makes me cringe, manufacturers design these motors for the " idiot factor"... thousands of cold starts, mis shifts, hitting the rev limiter etc. Because 99% of the population are not car people, and just have no regard for cars as some of us do....
