Think i'm going to be taking these out today... I'm all for NHV most of the time but god damn these are intense. Maybe its just a combination of the other driveline modifications but its loud. Probably keep them for auto cross though since its a really simple install.

So I just uninstalled the differential bushings. Apparently my ForcedFab mount was the cause of most the wine. That's the problem when you install too many things at once and have an issue. Still trying to figure out whats is causing the vibration. I'm thinking the rear alignment is off from the rear sub frame bushings.

Back to the drawing board, going to uninstall the Forced Fab and re install the differential bushings. There's a good noticeable difference when taking the differential bushings out. The car felt more solid and quicker off the line with them in.

When you unbolt the entire rear subframe, it's entirely possible to shift things a little bolting it back in. Especially when you're installing bushings with much tighter tolerances than OEM. It wouldn't surprise me if your rear alignment was tweaked a bit, because is was aligned using the OEM bushings.

Got the ForcedFab transmission insert out and the differential bushing re-installed. NO WHINE WHATSOEVER! Crazy how such a small piece would make a big difference on cabin noise. I also didn't install the front differential bushings, It seems like the rear is the problem area and personally don't think the front does that much beside transfer NHV.

Figured out where the vibration was coming from, no crush gasket on the over pipe so there was a phat exhaust leak. Kinda spaced on that one

Getting things back on track,,,,,, about to go down and get me some corn juice and try my new OFT. Maybe cause some more headaches

Whiteline differential insert bushings review

Then if we remove the 2 bushings on the front of the diff, we will remove the clunk and the gear sound?
Maybe the 2 bushings on the back are enough to tight the diff?

I wonder if with this setup we can't damage the 2 front oem bushing at long term?

Can we have an expert opinion here?

@Racecomp guys? Or anyone who have an expertise into this...

Thanks!

I've had it installed this way for a couple weeks now. The rear bushing installed without the fronts. The clunk is still there but I don't have any gear noise except for reverse. I figured the front bushings were solid enough that the polyurethane inserts wouldnt really do that much except transfer noise. My two cents

The solid feel is still there and I personally cant feel any difference after I took the fronts off.

Not an expert, but if you have only the rears installed you are still reducing the amount of "twist" on the differential so the front bushings should have less stress put on them.

I've gotten used to the sound, which was never really that bad to me anyway, and it's a pain to go under the car and take them out so mine are staying in.

Before I installed the outrigger bushings, I had the brace only. I had a slight clunk. After the bushings were installed, I could now hear slight gear whine with a more pronounced clunk during sudden deceleration.

I have the brace only (and the whiteline trans insert). Slight clunk, slight whine. The whine is barely barely there. Windows up radio off listening closely. lol. Feels great though.

I had these in for quite some time. I also have the Transmission insert bushing and HAD it coupled with Perrin. The sound was way too loud for me and took it out.
But about a month ago I started to hear a humming metal kind of like a grind or something coming from the dif, but I am not sure if it is caused by these. It comes up especially when I am in 5th and 60-70 km/h (38-43 mph) it usually goes away after 5 minutes of driving!

Not sure what it is really and I am thinking taking these off and see if the noise is still there!

Any advice?

You mean you have the rear diff brace and you hear a gear sound?

What is the brand of your brace?
