Interesting night at St. Albans Sanitarium.

First area we went to, I heard noises down a hall, so I slowly walked down it, with my night vision camera. I kept hearing noises, and kept going until the end of the hall, which met up with another hallway, in a T. I stopped, looked both ways down the hall, to see if anyone was out there. Then I heard a couple shuffles right behind me, I turned fully expecting to see someone, but no one was there, and I couldn't get my light on fast enough. Nothing, no one. That was awesome.

Later I was down in a hall between the bowling alley, and the boiler room, trying to change the camera battery in the dark. Everyone was in the bowling area, when some knocking sound was heard coming from the boiler room. Everyone thought it was me, but I knew it came from my left. I wish I had the camera working then, to catch the sound.

I need to go over all the video, and audio we recorded, and see if we caught anything.

I've got a few:

Once, when I was about 5 years old or so my brother and I were over at my grandparent's house for the weekend. It was summertime and it was the wee hours of the morning so there was just enough light in the room to be able to see everything semi-clearly. The curtains my grandmother had over the windows gave the whole room a kind of yellowish tint. I rolled over to try and find a comfortable position, facing the window and my brother's bed. I either blinked, or fell asleep for just a small amount of time and felt the need to wake back up. I opened my eyes and saw a shadow figure of a young boy. Not my brother, I could see right through the figure and it scared the hell out of me. I gasped and hid under the covers until it was light out. When I asked my brother if he was awake to use the bathroom at anytime that morning, he said no.

I've stayed at her house many times after that and haven't had another visit from the shadow boy. I still get goosebumps thinking about it.


Another one, this one come from my girlfriend/her family. It all started with her dad. When he was a kid he lived with his parents in an area that's now basically a suburb. Lots of woods behind the house, and neighbors about 40-50 feet on either side of the house. When he would sleep at night, sometimes hooded figures would appear in his window. Not just one, but multiple. They would never enter the house though and when he would call his father in to investigate, they'd disappear. From what he's said, they'd visit/creep in his window semi-frequently and he had learned to ignore them until he moved out.

Many years later, after a move to Washington, DC area, a marriage, and a child (my girlfriend) he chose to move back to his hometown. His father let the family stay there for a few years until they found a house they could buy. My girlfriend got her dad's old room.

The hooded figures were still there. But this time, they were in the room and around the bed. When she screamed and everyone came in the room, they disappeared again. If I understood her correctly, the hooded figures would stand on the far side of the room, closest to the window after that and just watch her.

Now, I've been to her grandfather's house and it has a weird feeling to it. I'm inclined to believe that they're not making it up. That and the fact that when my girlfriend reminded her dad about the hooded figures being INSIDE the room all the color went from his face.

So, I can't really say if this was my young mind playing tricks on me or not but here's my story.


I grew up I'm a smaller city in New Mexico (Las cruces to be exact but that's besides the point) one of the main things we have in town is the river.
I was maybe 13 or 14 when this happened it was the second week of high school my uncles picked me up and we headed to the river, which was in their back yard. I stayed over night there and they told me a few ghost stories and things they had seen living so close to the river about seeing people and hearing cries late at night.

I'm not sure how many of you know the story of la llorona, which translates to the weeping women, but my uncles told me this story and being very close to where the supposed drowning of her children occurred I had heard the story countless times.
But for some reason the time the told it to me it ran shivers down my spine.
Their back yard had about an acre or two of pecan trees that led right up to a small piece of the river, the same river in which this so called women wonders up and down looking for her children and apparently snatches up children and will show up in the mirror if you flash the lights yada yada

So this night I wasn't tired but my uncles fell asleep and I heard someone crying and yelling in Spanish. I look out the window and don't see anything and think I'm going crazy.
I looked out the window again after I hear it louder and through all the trees I see a bright light and as my eyes focus on it I see its a figure. A women to be exact. I can't believe my eyes. I'm scared and interested in seeing it at the same time. I open the window and feel how cold it is outside compared to normal.
I can only imagine how pale I was but my uncles woke up and said I was just staring. I don't remember anything after seeing her and her head turning towards me. They say that I was just sitting with the window open staring pale as can be.

I thought I learned my lesson the last time I read this thread.... Oh well I do have one story.

When I was 8 or 9, I lived in this house in the Eastern part of Maine.

This house had a long and well documented history. At one point in the early 20th century, it was owned by an Egyptian queen or princess or some shit like that.

Anyways, for about 40 to 50 years, this well known family in town had lived in the house. Then the the lady who had originally moved in with her husband died inside the house. About 10-15 years and 2 owners later we were living there.

Well one night, I'm playing some game on my PS2 when I hear someone call my name, who I assumed was my mother because it was a womans voice. Well I open the door and the house is pitch black. I slammed the fucking door and played PS2 the rest of the night because I was so freaked out. The scary part was that the lady knew my name....

It really was. There was all sort of writing on the wall under the wallpaper that we took down. I doubt it was anything to crazy, more than likely just markings when they built the house but the fact you can't read them clearly and that they are still there is somewhat worrying.

I could honestly go on about all the nuances about the house, such as the creepy dark areas of the basement that are blocked off, or the fact that you were always being watched it was just super sketchy living there.

I actually have quite a few stories... some might not be believable tho.

Heres a recent one:

A few years ago my brother passed away due to cancer; soon after my parents moved to a new place and I decided to move back in with them to give moral support. My brother was cremated, and our family placed his urn at an Asian temple. I keep a small urn with his ashes. I made a small shrine with his picture, the small urn and his Philly Eagles memorabilia on a shelf next to the bathroom in my room.

In our culture we do a 100 day ceremony in honor of the deceased, this is to help them move on to the afterlife. It lasts about 2-3days, normally the weekend (Fri-Sun). During that time I moved the small urn from my room to the living room where they placed incents, candles, fruits,etc. Anyway, one night during the time his urn was in the living room I woke up in my bed with a cold sweat. Under the doorway of the bathroom there was a girl standing there, I would say around the age of a teenager. She had long black hair and was wearing a nightgown. Her head was tilted to her right side. That scared the crap out of me so I turned on a lamp next to my bed. When I looked back she wasn’t there. After a few moments of catching my breath and trying to calm down I went back to sleep. I left my lamp on of course. Haha. The next day I placed the urn back on the shelf. I didn’t tell anybody because I figured I was just dreaming.

A few months later I moved out and my sister took that room. Nothing else occurred. On the 1 year anniversaryof my brother’s death I threw a party. I took his urn from the room and placed it in a spot in the living room where people bought over small gifts (fruits, flowers, stuffed anime dolls, etc). A week after the party I went to visit my parents and I saw that the urn was still in the living room. I was talking to my sister and she asked me if I felt anything weird in that room. I asked why. She said that a few nights prior she had a dream where a teenage girl came to her and told her that she hung herself in her room. My sister said the girl wasn’t trying to scare her; she just wanted my sister to know. My sister also told me that the day after she had that dream my dad was doing some gardening in the backyard. He said he found used lipstick, makeup and torn pieces of clothes. He said he found it wrapped in another torn cloth and it was buried under the window of that room. I asked her where were the items; she said my dad threw it away. That’s when I told her about the night I saw the girl. I told her if it freaked her out put the urn back on the shelf.

My family still lives in that house and the urn is still on that shelf. Nothing else has happened.
