PS. did u order Manual or Auto? because 3 month waiting list for manual having ordered on the 20th just doesn't sound right.

Too long or too short?

Jul 20th - month 1
aug 20th - month 2
sep 20th - month 3

Sounds about in line with what my dealer told me in terms of delivery date for my manual

Too short - especially considering that most manuals are getting quoted at early 2013 delivery. Maybe you got lucky with your dealer allocation.

i ordered a manual with the aero kit... my dealer doesn't seem to have been too popular though i don't think? I'm either 6th or 7th in line i was told.

You guys are pretty lucky to even get web tracking. In Perth we get nothing! Just rely on the dealer to update you on progress and hope they haven't shafted you by pushing you down the list

I just put a deposit down and ordered one today. Being in Perth the salesman just shrugged and said he had no idea anymore on delivery times. He was explaining maybe i'll be 'lucky' and get a MY13 plate. If that's his idea of luck i'm concerned haha

Ok so now that we are going into next year for orders. Can someone actually explain to me why Toyota doesn't build more cars ? It's not like they are handmade ?

There is one factory set up to build the cars. That's ALL of them. BRZ, 86, GT86 and FRS.
The factory is capable of producing a MAXIMUM of 100,000 cars a year. and that is WORLDWIDE. This car has more orders than cars to fill them worldwide, not just here. Given Japan and USA are the biggest markets, they naturally get the highest allotment of cars.

I ordered mine (gts manual) on june 16th and was quoted sep build oct delivery. Sound about right?

Not to call you a liar, but how do you know this is the case?

Like my sales woman said to me, "I honestly wish we had the tracking here in WA, as it would be much easier for my customers to track their own vehicle, rather than calling me every few days to get updates"
