If possible, just move the F over! Holding up traffic for everyone behind you is worse than tailgating. Tailgating only sucks for the tailgater and the car being tail gated. Brake checking is dumb, dangerous and sucks for everyone behind you. Let them pass and be someone else's problem.

If people are coming up behind me and it's an open interstate roadway I move over right and sometimes accelerate to outpace them. Then at that point it's their choice whether they are going to pass me.
I'm keeping my lane and lines of sight open and varying speed as comfortably as I can. If someone wants to just go at a constant speed, cruise control in the fast lane they should definitely have that lane to pass when they can. - but people shouldn't assume passing rights all the time and need to realize there's more "flow" to traffic than hitting the highway like it's the real autobahn - instead sharing the road with loaded trucks who also have their own passing maneuvers and cars / drivers who are unfit for long distance travel at high speeds. And oh yeah, enforced speeding laws. Lots of factors to consider. And also, we have these things called brakes people, it's the pedal next to the go pedal and it works just as well to gradually slow down your Hummer H2 so you're not late braking on every single car on the highway. Also! I saw a camaro pulled over by highway cops on the way home, his tires and brakes were smoking! Or at least there might have been smoke seemed coming from inside too. He must have been flooring it! Last edited by radroach; 12-27-2013 at 01:04 AM. |

As one of many examples: I was sitting at a stoplight the other night, and had some idiot blow by me in his base-model Camaro yelling "you car f***king sucks". It took less than a mile before his dumbass got pulled over by a state-trooper camping out on the side of the road. Five minutes later, I'm driving back home from the store blasting Van Halen and tipping my head to the officer while the PoS was hand-cuffed in the back of the police interceptor. Probably DUI.
