I'd come out... FRS is on stands in the garage being tinkered with all winter, but still come out for a coffee and meet some new faces.

Can we copy the Ottawa club and do an indoor karting social? I think this would be great fun...

That's not a bad idea. I've never been karting before, though. How is it compared to driving an actual car?

That depends on what karts your driving. Most public commercial tracks are only a grade or two above bumper cars. The top end where you own your own kart (say a two stroke) it's as close to driving a formula car as your ever going to find. The G loads can be incredible. For a fun get together at this time of year an indoor track is lots of fun. Electric karts have lots of torque if they are at the high end settings and the indoor track is warm. Gas powered indoor tracks have to be vented to the outside because of the fumes so you will need to dress warmer for them. If you want a real hoot in the spring check out the arrive and drive clubs in and around town. Goodwood is the closest to TO but Mosport has a fantastic track and worth the drive. There you will really have a chance to hone your driving skills. Trust me driving with slick tires on a wet track is quite the learning tool as they get very tail happy. If your a newbie at it and join the club most to the guys are good to help you out with lots of tips. Wagjag usually has deals of out at Mosport if your looking to just try it out, but they also do private events if you get a group together. If nothing else it will help you with your reaction times.

For an out door track.... I have raced at Hamilton and Goodwood but my favorite is Mosport. I love the changeable layout and changes in elevation. All of them welcome rookies.
Indoor tracks the I've been on I guess I like GPK for the comfort factor and that they have deals on groupon all the time. They also run a racing league there Tuesday nights where they bump up the power settings from what they run during public hours.
No matter where you go it's all about seat time. The more time the better you get as your race craft improves.

I'm not sure how many people we'll be able to get out for a weekday, though. Especially with the holiday season coming up.
