We weighed it a couple of different times. You have to make sure you balance it really well or the weights will be sqewed.

Entire install was documented here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39701

Weight

The DSS driveshaft is about 1/2 the weight of the OEM driveshaft. Big savings since its rotational mass.

I ordered the carbon fiber shaft a couple days ago for my AT from FT86SpeedFactory. Now just to wait for it to arrive.

There is a few of the CF ones out already. My buddy installed his last week. He doesnt like the sound of it. But it performs very well. I have the Aluminum. I hear no sound due to my header and full catless exhaust and all my solid mounts so I have trans whine instead. haha. But The car accelerates much quicker, feels lighter and more responsive.

When you have no power to build on... Reducing the weight is the best thing you can do to free up the power you have.
Now if I can only find $1000 in between my couch...

Is the price different between carbon and aluminum really worth it? 500 vs 1000 is a pretty heafty difference for 1lb less.

One of the first things we have to ask our customers is how it arrived. Did the packaging appear damaged at all? It did make quite a long journey especially in your case.

Just trying to help though.
