once again, quoting from the internal material, they expect the following sales target:

1500 cars for 2012 (6 months)
1800 cars for 2013
1200 cars for 2014

so initially 250 cars per month then 150 cars per month in 13 and 100 cars per month in 14. ie. pretty low numbers.

Nope so I won't get into trouble with disclosing all these info lol.

And I just remember those interesting info after looking at the booklet when I put down the deposit on Saturday.

I agree with everyone about $50k being a bit rude, but i take it none fo you have priced a top model mx5? It's the most similar car available and the top model is over $50k... I think that is rude too, but welcome to Australia...
This shouldn't be for $150k+ 35-49year olds.. They want more power. Sure, the handling on this will be up there with the more expensive stuff, but it will need more power to satisfy that market. Toyota Japan had it right. If you what you say is correct, Nardi, I am going to be uspet. having said that, I will still probably get one, I jsut will not be paying $50k. I don't have want of a high spec model. I don't care for navi, HID's, push button start, 17's (I will be changing rims anyway) and I don't care for leather/alcantara or climate control. I want a leather wrapped steering wheel, I want a stereo with aux and half decent speakers, I want regular air con, power mirrors and windows. I am a basic person who likes basic things. My favourite car of all time is an AE86 GT Apex..... So I don't need all the flash shit on the GTS
As long as it is red with foggies I am happy enough with the exterior, and I will put my own wheels on and lower it.

Nafe, u should be right with the base model then, except for the foggies...

I hope I'm wrong but I was just telling what I read from the dealers material. It maybe not 100% finalised yet tho..

I thought our base model was getting foggies too? If not I will add them
The top model looks good, don't get me wrong, and if it is not stupidly priced I would certainly consider, but I don't WANT/NEED the flashy extras :P
The base model will be as quick and handle as well as the top model, and maybe weigh a smidge less, and any base model car is better equipped than my current car hahahahaha.
Man, I hope you're wrong too, but time will tell.
As much as I LOVE toyota with an almost unhelathy passion, toyota Aust a generally a bunch of douches :/
Oh and I want a leather gearknob, but I don't think the base gets that?? TRD it will be for that.
