What tires were you on there Alex? Also which coilovers did you get? I'm definitely in the market for suspension upgrades and trying to decide how absurd my expenses should be...

I am on ZII's again this year, but on 17x8 RPF1's now with 245/40/17 ZII's. I got a used set of KW's for coilovers.

So I was able to take 1st in STX for the first time today. Loved the course though it was cold and windy. Good video this week:

Nice job Alex. I drove like crap, forgot the course twice, and inexplicably mis-shifted on my fastest run. I'll keep thinking of some more excuses. I'm just glad to be getting the seat time. I need to put my exhaust back on though... the new tires are so quiet; I couldn't hear my car at all.

Since you've had a few runs on them now what did you think vs the comparable models of other brands?

It's too early to tell and you can't tell by the times I ran, but they felt great this weekend. The steering is SO precise with these tires, much moreso than the Z2s, but I need to do more testing with pressures. They're on par with the Rivals and Z2s. I'm going to run STX at the Practice Event in a couple weeks, so I'm hoping for warmer weather to get some better data. I was disappointed with my driving yesterday, not the tires/car. I need to re-align, practice more, and things should be okay.

Competitive field at Frederick today, here is my best run for the day which was a 38.6. As an added bonus, my wife was there taking picture and she snapped a particularly good one:

Nice. I'm pretty close to pulling the trigger on a set of 17x9 RPF1's myself. Still up in the air but I'll probably go for ZII's also. Can't wait to get back home and start racing again.

Dammit GJ Alex. I only pulled off a 38.8. I had a run I'm pretty sure would have gone into the 37's but I plowed hard on my brakes in the turn after the crossover. Gotta get those HPSs!! Checking amazon now per our discussion...

Yeah I built a mount with $10 worth of pvc and wingnuts from Home Depot, and I have a GoPro on the handle-bar mount attached to my mount. I have had it for a couple seasons now and has worked great.

I think the angle I have is perfect, cause you can see the course, but also see the driver and his actions, which really make it valuable for both enjoyment and learning/review. Exterior video just doesn't have the same flair.

I have the Hero 1 right now, but I'll likely upgrade once the newer one comes out this year, Hero 4 or whatever they end up calling it.
