First turbo car.....errr...GOD, what was it? Some Shelby dodge or something from the 80's (lolololol), my dad's friend let him use it when the sentra was in the shop. Tiny car.
MK3 supra mk4 supra '04 WRX STi 1st Gen MR2 (S/C) 2nd Gen MR2 Eclipse GS-T 240sx w/ SR20 swap Datsun 510 with the SR20 from the 240sx posted above (both were owned by a friend. This car was retardedly fast because that SR20 was pushing ~400hp ).I believe those are the only ones I've ever been in. Of those, the only ones I drove were the Mk3 supra and the 2nd Gen MR2. I'm not bashing turbos in the least. I love the feel of turbo cars and the absolute thrill they provide when they get into the boost powerband. I like NA engines better because of many reasons, most of which aren't even performance related. The sound and feel of a high-rev NA, screaming at you at 6000+ RPM and still wanting more is just something words can't describe. Throw on ITB's and well-enough exhaust and you got engine music that can't be surpassed. Its all just opinion really. I like the feel of NA engines better, and to me this car is a car that should be NA. One day I'll get my high HP turbo highway machine that'll just accelerate hard and fly down the road. But the FT-86? Nah, I'm a hachi guy, NA all the way. The avatar was thrown in there to poke at all the guys wanting turbos.

the fastest turbo car i've been in was a MKIV supra. had a 61mm turbo, "only" 600whp on 100octane, but the torque curve was ENORMOUS.
been in multiple ~350whp MR2s, and they're ridiculously fun. drove an immaculate MK1.5 MR2 (AW11 w/ genIII 3SGTE). driven STi's and WRX's a few times, as well as an LGT or two. was in a 400whp Evo that seemed, almost sluggish? he had dyno graphs to prove it, but the car just didn't feel as fast as i would have expected. the first turbo car i was ever in was actually an MR2 that i was looking at buying. i was hooked from that point onward. ![]() Quote:
it makes fun noises when my rev limiter kicks in! i agree though, a well-tuned n/a engine sounds like nothing else, and i sincerely hope for many reasons that the FT86 is, in fact, n/a when it is released. -Mike

Oh, forgot
Late 90's model (I think at least, I was in my early teens when I rode in it) Porsche Carrera and forgot about the 2000 Audi S4. I actually drove this S4, which had a chip, intake and exhaust. Damn thing was fuggling fast. |

I've seen a few of those 3S swaps in AW11's. Honestly though if (when probably) I get my own AW11, I'd opt for 20v 4A-GE with the ITBs. hehe. |

Watch out! They'll get ya! On a side note, I just watched Paranormal Activity and what a joke that was. So fake, you could tell it wasn't real.

I was going to make new threat bout this... but it's late and my brain doesn't work well, so I gonna post it here. lol
It's a bit old article, but I came across and thought, "man Hyundai is challenging the Toyota for FT-86 spec and price." Hyundai Genesis What do you guys think? Spec is some what same with FT-86. price is bout what we're wishing for... Now performance part, we have no clue. |

I think Toyota may be able to match Hyundai 2.0T for all its worth, especially if we keep the engine NA. The Hyundai is 2.0T is 26k. I really think that is toyotas price ceiling for this project. Albeit I would pay maybe 27-28k for a yota that gives me 200HP NA, LSD, Brembos and 6speed that weighs 2700lbs.
