The car I got for winter is 450 lbs lighter.... and I know it will be great in the snow because I've had 2 of them before. And I'm mainly doing it to avoid rust. Yea I could wash the car every week, but there's still 6 days, 23 hours, and 49 minutes in between that the car will have salt on it.

all ya gotta do is clean it properly underneath, and do it again next week.the objective is to NOT give the salt a chance to start the corrosion process!.ya do this effectively by washing it every week, and NOT garaging it somewhere where it is warm, which speeds up the process. if your car is ''front wheel" drive, this changes things as the weight "bias" is on the front wheels, and the car will achieve better traction. a light weight 'front wheel driver has a tendency to "pack" snow underneath the car,and lifting it off the road, thus rendering it "useless" because the wheels are totally off the "surface",and traction becomes "non-existant" this,of course only becomes an issue when encountering heavy wet deep snow!

I'm hearing up to 3-6" of snow tonight into tomorrow. I went to Tire Warehouse to get some snows but they had a 2 hour wait, looks like I'll be rocking all-seasons for the first snow!

Same here. Even though they're only projecting an inch or two where I live, it's still snow. All seasons FTW! haha

On a side note, I just noticed you and I picked our cars up on the same day.

And to go further off topic, let me know if you're ever interested in a trunk swap, Geoff.

I'm rocking all seasons on the beater right now. Guess I should swap them soon. I got the snows in the trunk waiting.

God I hope they don't overly salt the roads tonight and that the rain washes most of it away.

I'm gonna beat around in my 96' Eclipse while I work on my FRS wherever I decide to store it.. Anyone know of any storage places near Lowell Ma I could store it?? If you have a place thats secure I'd gladly shell out some cash til I remove it... (no plans on engine work mostly asthetic)

Are you looking for dead storage (leave it until you pick it up)? or storage you can go to frequently and do whatever?

There's a storage place right next to Ira Tewksbury (what a coincidence ) and it looks like $169/month for a 10x20 unit...not too shabby.

Prefer the clean look without the spoiler? I'll definitely keep that in mind

FYI warning for everyone...Drive safe! Drove back home from a friends house and there was a thin layer of snow/ice. Was going 30 tops and a *little* too much gas my back end slipped a bit. Once it slipped too much and I was zig zagging all over the road. Thankfully there was nobody on the road and it was a slow motion slip. It was very controllable but still scary as heck! Almost couldn't get up a short hill at a red light either.

Drive safe!

Yea, I had to go out in it (woman's cell phone crapped the bed). Didn't have the snows on my beater yet, but it did pretty damn good.
