Current and Previous gen owners - how bad is the road noise?
Quote:
If you look at the TRD Japan GR86 accessories page, there are dampers that replace the strut braces in the engine bay. The description says it reduces noise. I wonder if the braces are directly transmitting resonant noise from the strut towers, and whether these dampers address a known issue. https://www.trdparts.jp/english/prod...unctional.html

Well just removing the OE bars is a 0$, 5min test you can do. Your wish is my command.

Or you can get the Subaru flexible v-bars for an '18 tS for way less than importing them. Not sure if it will change the noise though. I think you're too far from me to locally test.

I noticed a blow off valve style pshhhh sound if I accelerate hard and lift off sharply at just over 5000rpm (I'm still running it in, so haven't reved higher yet).
Anyone else notice that? Pretty strange sound for a NA car! |

So I've been driving a bit more the last few days. Road noise is totally fine on the streets but ridiculously loud on the highway, even with music playing. Oh well, I knew what I was getting into. Still fun as hell driving the BRZ!

I can hear the noise driving on gravel at 2 mph. I was backing out of a parking spot on compressed gravel and heard it. I seriously don’t know what it is, but it’s weird. |
