I don't believe for a second that the FT86 is faster around the 'Ring than the WRX STI. No way.

Also, hasn't Subaru been claiming for over a year now that their STI sedan is the fastest sedan around the Nurburgring, dethroning the Cadillac CTS-V with a sub 8:00 minute time?

That's with non-production mods such as a bigger turbo, etc., so it doesn't count as a production car record.

I did an 8:08 with the new 2.02 update for GT5 containing the GT86. I left the car stock except it was on sport tires (soft) and had an exhaust and intake. That time was with 2-3 screw ups. So I predict on the stock Prius tires that the car would be around an 8:10-8:20 lap.

I'm going to throw the stock tires back on, remove the exhaust and intake (which didn't change anything but sound really). I think it can click an 8:15 possibly and IRL probably an 8:20-8:30 since RL drivers will be dealing with consequences for pushing the car to far and can't just reset so they might be a little more cautious. Then again the trophy for beating the GTR's RL lap time was pretty hard.

Suspension was wonderful on the Nurburg.

GT5 seems to say otherwise.

i just watched my brother-in-law pull a 8:24 laptime on GT5 using a stock GT86. Hes using a wheel. That little fucker of a car can dive into corners, i was getting scared of understeer at the speeds he was going.

does it have snap oversteer like the ft 86 concept in gt5? ( you go in corner and it just wants to spin out)

I have finals so i havent turned on the ps3 for a while

Damn. Could he scrub any more time off that, like another .5-1 sec?

No, I don't have a new wheel yet. So, I'm all thumbs at the moment.

And you can try to beat my time all you like. I'm the current fastest lap time guy in the other thread for a modified FT-86 around Tsukuba I'll just come back and place a faster lap....if you beat it.

I smell a battle brewing....

This car is like butter bro...so freakin smooth. It does not have snap oversteer, but lift throttle oversteers pretty good. You time it right for the corner and lift throttle it will step out, and then I dial the throttle back in and introduce some understeer (just enough) to bring me around the corner without using the brakes that much. When it lift throttle oversteers....it's so manageable and not violent at all.

When I get some more seat time, times will start falling.

Have you tried stock car yet? I'm curious what times you would pull.
