The rims in this picture almost make them look staggered.

That style does come in 18s, but I dont know if I trust my eyes from that angle.

Just out of curiosity...

if it's not a liftback in the same way the 90's Celica and Supras were that had similar over the top spoilers, then how in the hell are you going to open a traditional boot with that park bench on there? Wouldn't the wing get in the way and limit the amount the boot lid could be opened?

The passenger must be on the phone with Hachi or ichitaka. Wonder what he told them?

Looks to me like the wing would cause more lift than it would push the rear down.

But I do like wings...

Not meant to flame but I'm curious what made you say that? A lot of the time looks can be deceiving and it isn't until in the wind tunnel/on the track that you can really tell how the wing will interact with the rest of the car.

Is that a brake lap behind the back seat? I'm not sure if that was in yesterday's concept.

Yes, it comes in 18x8... but from the tire look, my bet is on 17x7.5

Yes, there was. That's why 3rd brake light is lil bit lifted

I'm starting to think that all the people that hate wings are just insecure and worried they'll get made fun of, or that they will be called "rice".

Toyota or Subaru?

to answer the question what car is being tested, its both. it is a joint venture project so any data recorded is shared and analyzed by both companies and engineering depts.

when it was in fuji it was 50/50 that was testing not at the same time. here at the ring its actually a little more toyota because they have a larger base compared to subaru. the parts your seeing is subaru gift to the test. again this is all for data collecting that's why I said you will see different wheel and tire set ups before but more important everytime it goes out it will have new suspension set ups as well.

we've seen questions about the car styling. toyota when the first concept bowed in late 2009 has been wind tunnel testing the design as early as 2010. the first concept didn't meet standards. while it looked great it wasn't slippery enough and produced a lot of noise. the data was given to the designers and they came up with FT86II. the II like I said is what the actual car will look like the most from a body panel standpoint.

If it is functional and helps the cars handling, I don't mind. I just don't want a spoiler thrown on there to "look good" but provide no true benefit and just block the rear visibility. If it works= great. If not, just leave it off or put on a small/low profile one.

Hm... or they haven't driven any STI, Evo, &Supra. LOL

I kinda like this ver of spoiler more than yesterday's small ver... but I don't want that lil thing on the side. I hope final ver looks like Type-R, Evo, STI, & Celica ver spoiler. I'll be thumbs up if you can adjust the angle too! Am I asking too much?
