agreed. I didn't want to say the same thing someone else said. I've had mostly Toyota's. I love my Scion tC. I've been watching this 086 platform since early 2007. I knew this would come out and said it should be a Scion, because of the Market. Who cares if it's a Scion or Toyota. It's like saying Toyota and Lexus are 2 different manufacturers! They're the same company. Scions are built in Lexus plants, in Japan. Their quality is no different than that of a Toyota OR Lexus. If it's a Toyota, Scion OR Lexus, I'd buy it, because I know it will be a great car.

Yea I totally love the looks of the 86, although I wish they wouldn't call it the FR-S...GOD that sounds stupid. How about S86, or 086, or Z86 (as in Zero), or just plain ol' 86!

Anyhoo. I guestimate the specs to be about the same. Mostlikely 200HP/170-180# tq (Scion would mostlikely keep the numbers sorta similar to tC, but better 2011 tC: 180hp/173tq @ 4400rpms), Curb weight around what you said, 2850lbs. 6sp stick/tip auto tranny. If they went low for the torque, it wouldn't be lower than 162tq@4000rpms that was on the 05-10 tCs. If they did 140lbs tq, it would be just another Civic Si like coupe. No thank you.

People want and talk about crazy power numbers, and are trying to compare the car to a 370Z! But you really can't. And they're not even in the same price range. Even the non turbo Supra was waaay out of the the pricerange that this car will be in. For the the Price (it's a Scion, so it WILL be inexpensive.) and it's coming from Toyota/Scion I know it will be a great car. I can't wait to drive it!

Well, he's looking at the worse side. If it's lighter than that, it's always a plus

Here's the thing. Look closely. The shape of everything is FT 86II. They took off the Carbon Fiber front difuser & lower grille edge, LEDs, lights are the same shape and placements, but with different internal styling. And the "Scion" accross the back. It just looks like a combo of the 2 versions, but it really isn't. Its the FT 86II without the nifty Car show mods, lol. Pesonally I hated that rear spoiler. It looked like an afterthought.

The reason I quoted a low torque output is because of displacement. The old TC and new TC had a extra .4 liters than this boxer engine. You will be disappointed by the torque unless they use a 2.5/DI engine which I think is the best bet.

Oh my gosh! I love this one the best of all. Really like the sculpted rear fenders and the trunk looks so clean without the wing.
