For sure! 350wHP with only 2700 pounds would be incredible. Assuming about 400HP at the crank, that would be nipping at the heels of the C6 Z06 in terms of power-to-weight, and right on par with the forthcoming Camaro ZL1. I'm sure the aftermarket community will be ferociously working on boosting whatever version of the FB engine ends up in the car, but you can't honestly expect a 400HP version to come from the factory and still have a warranty. 200HP/L is still rare air and no mass production engine to my knowledge has ever touched it. The Porsche 911 GT2 RS is close, with 172HP/L, but it's also a quarter million dollars and not exactly mass production.

My current car is 2550lbs and will be around 350whp Dyno Dynamics (about 370whp Dynojet numbers). That is until I get the block built and push 450-500whp. Quote:
Amen to that...

Those are some impressive numbers. I'm more impressed that you've dropped 400 pounds out of your tC. Your car has been on scales to verify that?

Taking 355 lbs off is quite a lot--what you'd do to achieve that? Fixed bucket seats, gutted interior, CF hood/trunk would lop off maybe 100-150 lbs. No AC either I take it.

HP can be understood as either BHP or WHP, and it's very easy to get them confused even though they are related albeit different numbers. |

Weight savings still to be had -Still have to replace the roof with carbon (another 40lbs shaved) -Still have a stock trunk, looking to replace with a carbon hatch -Doors are stock, looking to replace with carbon doors. Weight will get added back in of course when I cage it and go widebody as well. The fenders won't be carbon anymore so it might add a few lbs back in. I'll weigh it again once all said and done. True that, you can look at it that way since I do race it on a monthly basis during the season (grassroots and professional). I like to ride the line of being a street car and race car. When it's no longer "streetable" then it will be a full on race car (i.e. fully caged, to stiff of suspension for pot holes in the road, to low for drive through entrances...etc). |

Shame too...if the tC came RWD instead of FWD, I'd already own one.....and then have slapped a 20v 4A-GE blacktop in there.
Agh, there I go again! |
