Good old necro bump on this thread.

1.4 is out today with the massive rebalance of all weapons/gear/skills/set bonuses. Probably not gonna bring back most of the people who left but who knows. Gonna try it out tonight if anyone still plays this game.

Looking like AlphaBridge and Predator's Mark will be top tier PVP with Banshee/Blind and a few others below them.

Impressions after 1 day on patch 1.4 (even though no one actually cares because the game is pretty much dead )

The world tier system is awesome. It allows you to completely gear up and get the best gear in the game without ever having to touch the dark zone if you don't want to. You can still get more loot per hour easier in the dz but definitely not bad outside of it. If you like the gameplay/idea of the game but hated having to grind in the DZ and getting wrecked by no lifes this might actually be the time to come back and try it again. There is even a set now that stops you from losing xp/money in the DZ when you die if you are not rogue

Seem to be more viable pvp builds at the moment instead of everyone just running sentry shotgun 1 shot builds. SMGs, Assault Rifles, LMGs, and Shotguns are all viable now

Work is a bit slow today and i still enjoy this game more than I should so enjoy some un-asked for analysis. I'd post on the official division forums but people just bitch on there about stupid shit and completely ignore any real thought about changes.

Best PVP builds IN MY OPINION: (Still testing firecrest)
Updated 10/27/16 based on more playtime with the sets

AlphaBridge - SMG or Assault Rifle or LMG or Shotgun
2 piece - +100% health regen
3 piece - +5% weapon damage
4 piece - same as 1.3 - When primary and secondary weapon are same category each weapon benefits from the talents on the other gun

Stronger in PVP now with the sentry's nerf and the 5% and the relative weakening of most sets/AI damage/hp. Since overall ammo count has been increased as well the set doesn't run out as much as it used to. I currently use AlphaBridge with SMGs and this is my preffered play style.

Personal notes: I think this will be the highest DPS pvp as long as you have the perfect talents of Brutal, Deadly, Responsive, Competent, Vicious, and Fierce/Unforgiving/One of the healing ones. If you have the 4 damage talents and vicious I think it is still barely better than Banshee but if you only have 3 or less of the damage talents I would stick with Banshee or Predator. 1st Place for PVP in my opinion if you have the right weapon talents

Predator's Mark - SMG or Assault rifle
2 piece - +10% reload speed
3 piece - +8% assault rifle and smg damage
4 piece - Almost the same: hit an enemy 10 times without switching targe to cause them to bleed over time for 50% of the damage of the 10 bullets

A lot better than it was in 1.3 and also relatively stronger compared to most other sets. The bleed makes it almost impossible for people to run away from you and still has overall good damage.

Personal Notes: My predator build is still not that good but I don't feel like this set even when optimized puts down the damage as well as my AlphaBridge or Banshee sets. The bleed is really nice for sustained DPS but you still need more on the bursty side to kill real players. Solid set but 3rd place for me for PVP

2 piece - +20% DZ funds
3 piece - +10% DMG to enemies out of cover
4 piece - wall of text but basically
When rouge - Take 10% less dmg from non rogue and ammo refills every 30 seconds
When not rouge - Deal 10% more to rogues and dont lose money/xp when dying in DZ

This used to be the blind set but all blind pieces were converted to banshee. I don't have actual play time with it yet as am still trying to get one of the pieces but from what I have seen it is definitely a viable set with some nice quality of life bonuses and good damage as well.

Personal notes: Finally got my banshee set up and I really like this set. If you don't have a perfect Alphabridge this is probably your best overall PVP setup. The set bonuses are strong and it works well with any type of weapon. 2nd Best PVP in my opinion, plus all the armor pieces are black with some red lines so they look awesome.

Firecrest - SMG or Assault rifle or LMG
2 piece - +3 Flame Grenades
3 piece - +50% flame turret range, +30% Flame turret dmg
4 piece - Damage against on fire targets is increased by 15%

Huge buffs vs 1.3. The set actually feels like a fire set now. Due to needing the turret the set only functions well if you plan on staying in an area and does poorly when trying to run away. Overall it is a cool set and just feels fun/rewarding when played right.

Personal notes: My firecrest build is really bad at the moment so that probably affects my rating but this set just doesn't work as well for the way division PVP plays out. If you are holding out in a building or small area the flame turret is really effective and they have a ton of health now so the enemy either wastes a bunch of time killing it or is constantly getting set on fire and then you get the dmg buff as well. 4th best PVP IMO

2 - 30% accuracy 3 - 10% headshot dmg 4 - same but 5% instead of 15%

Personal notes: Still possible to 2 or 3 shot people with optimized build but thankfully it seems like a one shot from full hp is no longer possible on a well geared player. Can still be useful against AI used a by a tank/support to mark for DPS

4 piece changed from not scoped to scoped and it changes the whole playstyle

Personal notes: People mainly use this set for the 3 piece combined with other 3 pieces for lots of headshot dmg

4 piece applies to the whole team now

Tactician's Authority - still plays mostly the same
2 - 10% skill power 3 - 10% skill haste 4-mainly same

Personal notes: The % skill power is nice on a high skill build but not useful to try and make up for low skill power so the 2 piece isnt really good outside of dedicated skill builds. Skill haste actually functions correctly now and the way the 4 piece stacks should make it very strong against AI.

Bottom Tier/Niche Viability Sets

Nomad - better for solo but no DPS increase
2 - 15% health on kill 3 - constantly regen hp even in battle 4-Full hp revive every 4 min

Personal notes: No DPS increase will probably make most people disregard but the 3 piece combined with Alpha 2 piece is being tested and might be OK depending on how much HP/healing you can stack. The revive is really nice for undergeared players if you are trying to carry them through a harder activity.

Striker's Battlegear - overall nerfs
2 - 20% stability 3 - 10% armor dmg 4 -same

Personal notes: 2 piece isn't really needed and 3 piece only affects AI. Against very tanky AI the 4 piece can stack well but outside of that the set bonus isn't up enough to be worth.

Final Measure - 2 and 3 piece nerfed but 4 piece buffed
2 - 15% exotic 3 - 15% protection from elites 4 - defuse grenade/mortar every 6 seconds

Personal Notes: Enemies do a lot less damage/exotic damage so the set is niche for incursions with defusing nades/mortars

Personal Notes: 4 piece bonus now properly puts the consumable on cooldown so it can't be abused anymore. Havn't seen a single one yet (Armor is a light brown color so easy to see) and I don't think it will be useful outside of a tank/support using the +30% dmg to elites consumable for the team.

Personal Notes: Some people are still having ammo problems so it could maybe help them there but overall the set just doesn't provide enough DPS or utility

Many weapon talents and gear talents were also nerfed/rebalanced so these numbers seem small/insignificant but alot of them actually have a solid effect on gameplay

Best Weapon talents still seem to be:

Responsive - Always active 10% buff when in normal pvp range
Brutal - Nerfed in 1.4 but still very strong

Tier 2:
Competent - Less skill uptime means less proc's for competent but still strong
Deadly - Nerfed in 1.4 and crit no longer multiplies with headshots and crit is harder to build for overall
Vicious - %Crit chance nerfed but only needs 2/3 hp now instead of full bar. Overall buff IMO
Unforgiving - slight number changes but still strong

Fierce - % Chance nerfed and vicious was buffed and vicious is easier to unlock
Predatory/Sustained - Purely healing on kill

Skills

Bunch of new skills are also viable as smart cover and pulse were nerfed hard and heal was nerfed enough that with certain setups people can probably run without a heal skill.

Personal notes: Seeing a lot more turrets and the cluster seeker mine is really nice now for staggering/chasing down fleeing players

I hate the modern era of gaming we are in where people play a game for a month or two and then on to the next......

I still love the concept of this game and they are one of the few recent games not trying to throw microtransactions in your face which I appreciate.

Me too. I miss the days of having a core group of online friends you would play with every day. We all got older and now not many of us play together anymore. I am into 1 player games now like Fallout 4 and I am planning on getting Skyrim 2.0. I can put hundreds and hundreds of hours into those kinds of games

Updated 4 main PVP sets with personal play notes and added optimal weapon talents and some quick skill notes.

Disclaimer: This is my opinion and if you've noticed something different I would love to hear about it
