My neighbor has a yellow one of those Datsun trucks, and there is another on my way to work that is white. I would prefer that size as well. A Suzuki Jimney for off-road 4x4 driving. I have nothing to tow. I could imagine needing to tow a car and supplies to a track someday, maybe.

my biggest problem lately with unibody vehicles is that it makes mounting a hitch sort of a fiasco. when you're mounting it to what is essentially folded stamped sheet metal, there's a number of very specific processes and materials needed, and if any one of those steps is messed up or omitted, it drops a 4k tow rating to 500 pounds...

It's quieter by far, a bit more compliant, much smoother over bad roads and off-road...there's no comparison. I did install a class III hitch on it myself. Had a '93 Range Rover that was body-on-frame too. I much prefer working on and driving heavy duty vehicles constructed that way....especially living in the salt belt. So, yeah. I won't buy a unibody truck because to me, it ain't a truck...it's a car that looks like a truck. Doesn't mean you shouldn't, or that it's not a truck to you. Different priorities, is all.

unibody don't particularly bother me, i've been drooling over building one of these for a decade.

My point is that you can design unibodies as strong as you need to, and a proper tow bar setup will maximize the capacity of the chassis. Just don’t have the guy from U-Haul weld a dumb bar across the rear end. I’ve helped a friend install the OEM tow bar for an old BMW 7 series and it was pretty easy. It basically replaces the rear crash bar. There were a bunch of pickup points to also get 3500lbs capacity from it, but it only took us a few hours. This will sell well. Alot ppl need a work truck with decent payload capacity and little towing need. Even if I hate the CVT the mpg of the hybrid will make alot of companies and ppl happy who drive alot for there job
