I swear the weekly Nightfall is more productive than the raid. Picked up a legendary pulse rifle last night and an exotic chest piece for a Titan. Haha damn, so true. The nightfall is way more worth it. I just need a set of raid gauntlets so I can get to level 30. But, now that halo and Unity are out, probably won't be playing much destiny at all. I was doing the raid every wednesday with some friends in hopes of getting raid gear but that might even stop now.

They're working on some big stuff, but nothing implemented yet.

There's an outage window tomorrow for an estimated four hours (8am until 12pm pacific) so they can do maintenance to prep for the upcoming stuff.

I'm pulling in more from the raid than nightfall. Have done 3 nightfalls, gotten 2 legendary weapons (1 was a duplicate) and 1 exotic hunter helmet (that was also a duplicate).

I've run the raid 3 times, but only got loot for 1 and a half of those runs, grabbed energy/shards, raid chest, praedyth's revenge (sniper), chatterwhite, atheon's epilogue and the raid hunter cape.

Am I the only one who's desperately short on ascendant energy? I have 5+ guns sitting at 267dmg with all the exp maxed and mats farmed, just waiting for energy.

I'll take shards over energy any day of the week. Fully upgraded weapons are only effective once you hit 30. If they ever implement a trade system I'll get back on the game because I have about 50 energies I'd gladly trade for shards. I'm still stuck on level 28 since the only thing I play is crucible when I'm actually on Destiny. Which isn't as often anymore.

I'm convinced this game isn't RNG, but rather "worst case scenario RNG". Like RNG somehow knows you need shards, so it gives you energy instead. "You like hand cannons and auto rifles? Perfect here's 4 pulse rifles instead."

Yeah, I made it to level 29 and then, finally, got a piece of raid armor so I equipped it and it sent me back to level 28. I'm eligible to fully upgrade that piece of armor right now but still need shards! So I'm hovering at the 28/29 mark right now. One more upgrade should put me to 29. The downside is that in order to hit 30, you have to do the raid until you get all the armor. Drives me nuts because I enjoy the raid but I really don't want to grind the raid, there's enough of that already.

Well they need to hurry! I think people's attention spans are waning with this game right now. Maybe the expansion/DLC will pull people back in, but there's a lot of new stuff coming out right now from other sources so the competition is getting stiff. Got my Halo collection yesterday and spent almost an hour and a half playing that instead of Destiny. I'm seriously considering dropping both of my exotic bounties because I'm having a really hard time getting myself to play Crucible. I'd rather stick Titanfall back in to my Xbox if I want to do PvP stuff.

I swear this game does opposite things for people. I can't seem to get anything on the raid but I do Nightfall and get at least 1 legendary piece of gear each time.

Yep, I keep getting energy and not shards. I need shards!

I still am half-suspicious that this game doesn't track your playing habits and then reward you with stuff you don't use. I was an auto rifle guy from the start, my very first legendary weapon? A hand cannon. At least I've come to appreciate and actually like my hand cannon, but I swear this game gives you stuff that it knows you won't use and/or like. I've got a legendary fusion rifle sitting in the vault that I've seriously been considering dismantling cause I just don't use fusion rifles. I picked up a legendary pulse rifle from the Nightfall last night, actually thinking about dropping my Bad JuJu bounty now because not sure I will use/need 2 pulse rifles.

Damn right they need to hurry, there's SO many games coming out this month I might not have time for Destiny even if there was content...but there isn't. People going to jumping ship and never coming back.

This. A thousand times this. Makes sense too, still "rewards" you to keep you interested and never actually gives you want you want to keep you playing forever.

I wish they gave us more character slots. It'd be nice to have the ability for a primary and alt for each class a-la Diablo.

I agree that would be nice but good god the amount of grinding to level up 6 characters would be excruciating. I'v started a Hunter and Warlock and I'm having a hard time finding the time to level them up as I spend most of my time trying to reach the holy grail of 30 on my Titan.

I spoke too soon about my VoG drops, ran normal yesterday and only got energy/shards and Chatterwhite.

It would take time, but not nearly as long as a single solo character. My Warlock was a long grind, but I found I was getting legendary and exotic Hunter gear as rewards. So I started a Hunter and just did the story and daily bounties, and after 1-2 weeks of casual play I hit level 20 and was instantly at level 24/25 after equipping the gear I had collected. After that it doesn't matter which character you use, you can still use your primary, but as you collect shards just use them to level up the alt.

The main reason to use alts is two fold, A- have another mule to carry gear (extra storage) and B- do high reward things like daily/weekly stuff to double your rewards.

Now my hunter is L26 and can just barely do the lvl 28 daily/weekly stuff. I have nearly 40 shards just waiting to be spent on armor upgrades, just need to farm more blue/green armor for materials and I should hit L28 this weekend.

Then I'll do the same for my Titan. Just try to knock out multiple bounties at once for the vanguard rep and bonus experience, and you'll level up fast. Like 6 Venus Patrols, 200 whatevers from Venus, and 100 headshots, and 30 melees, those four can be bundled easily and knocked out quickly. Also try to do one public event with each character, as the daily reward is ascendant materials and vanguard marks, etc. Also get a few good lvl 6, 10, 16, and 18 weapons and don't dismantle them, just keep them in the vault and pass them down to the new character upgraded.
