Unichip Jack is the man, his customer service is outstanding. I didn't order my unichip right, noticed at the last second and tried to stop but somehow ended up double charging for my purchases. Within 1/2 hour of being open the next day my order was fixed n the $427 were back in my account, all I had to do was message Jack. Best part, unichip was shipped same afternoon and I'm tracking its way here. Can't wait to I stall!

Maps Used: FA20Club Fuel Out/ Timing Standard and Fuel Out/Timing +
All of my mods in sig are current. First impressions after approx 8 mile drive to gym and back I disconnected the battery for 15 minutes to reset the ECU before this test: Initially the pedal was unresponsive and the car bogged as you might expect after resetting the ECU. On the way home, the ECU seemed to have adapted and the backfire was all but gone when downshifting! This could be due to using the "Fuel Out" map because it's running leaner. When I was running the Injen map, the car backfired and burbled constantly all of the way back down to idle...(Anyone with an unrestricted FA20 knows that this engine can make some sweet sounds. lol) I kind of miss that, but while actually revving, the engine just feels and sounds much, much more alive! The entire rev-range feels refined and responsive with more torque throughout. Since I have only driven it twice since resetting the ECU, I suspect that it will only continue to improve. I would have tested 0-60 times versus my previous 6.8, but the used $40 Android a955 that I was using in my car solely for the Torque App seems to have died. lol Looks like I'll be investing in a Nexus 7 or something soon. PS: Thanks Jack, you guys over at Unichip certainly know what you're doing!

Loaded 92 octane FA20Club all catback standard fuel, standard timing...200 miles of driving....wow what a difference. Much more linear on throttle, power comes on smoothly. Thank you UniChip!!! Down in Mexico while testing I got the tires to bark shifting to 3rd (paddling the AT no less). BTW, Mexico is where all of us in AZ go to do high speed testing......
Loading the UniQ could not of been easier, unplug from car, carry inside and hook up to computer......all of 10 minutes and was done loading maps. Was going to load "updated firmware" but stopped, the instruction say to load file ending with .DAS........two listed in the file location, and not knowing what was the right one I decided to leave well enough alone............would be nice to know which one is the right one. Maybe a file name of UniQFWmmddyyy.DAS (mmddyyy would let you know if it is newer than what you have already. Then I wanted to rename my maps in the Flux2.......who had the bright idea to have to have the OBD2 connector connected to do this......as I did not feel like lugging my laptop out in the 118 degree heat and do this it will have to wait for later. As far as I can tell the only reason to have the OBD2 connected is to apply power to the Flux2 display so hyper-terminal will communicate to the display......you could not of made a connection cable that would power it by the USB connection? And why Hyperterminal, WIN7 and above needs to download a program to get this as its not included past VISTA......I see no reason a nice program could not of been included with the Flux2 to do this. Another issue, ever look in the folder of instructions? 100398762.pdf, 10667483.pdf, 488208324.pdf (numbers just typed in as an example). Lets click and open everyone of the number.pdf files until I find what I need, sure a few have a written easy to understand file name, but would it be too much to ask that they all have a file name that is easy to understand what it is. After doing this for 15 minutes I found it faster to go find the box my UniChip came in and look up what I needed. Might even be a good idea to put ALL of the instructions on the website in the FR-S product category, to include all of the instructions needed for the FR-S version of UniQ and Flux2 product...... The new tune works great, and apart from the minor inconveniences listed above this is the best MOD to date.

About 10 days ago I installed the Unichip on my FRS. I had a cat back and drop-in at the time. It had a decent butt-dyno feeling. Today, I put in a Takedo CAI and downloaded a few maps. Jack, the process took me longer than the unichip install.
At this point, I couldn't be happier. Thanks for a Great product. Question: I heard people say Shell V-Tek is not the best gas. Is Chevron the way to go?

@Unichip Jack
I have a more reasonable idea on the map programming software. Just update it to output a log file that lists UNICHIP Serial # + file name uploaded. The routine needs to be written to handle both single uploads and batch uploads. Have you heard back from the developer on FIXING? The current list of broken UI issues I commented on yet? Now I suggest adding a readme.txt file to explain the non-conformant directory naming. Fuel should have just the "+" or "-" in the directory names as the files do, but to me they still don't convey anything with "in" and "Out" Fuel is either pushed "Rich" by the unichip or Lean from OEM baseline. Timing is either Advanced (more) and "retarded" (less) then OEM timing at a given RPM. IN/OUT means little I think to many 'older' weekend guys from our teenage years that worked on our first cars that had distributers with points in them. Raise you hand if you remember what "Point Gap" means... ![]() R

The Unichip helped bigtime! At first I had it on advanced timing setting and it ran so sluggish. I then stopped and switched to less aggressive timing and...WOW what a difference! It did not completely eliminate the tq dip but it's so so close. It actually pulls pretty hard from 3-4500 rpm now. I'm impressed
