I'll be test-fitting my setup again on the weekend on both front and rears. 18x9 +35 square
The weird thing is that according to your fitment calculator, I should be 4mm in, but instead I am about 20mm out. See pics.
I also know many others have fit 17x9+35 and also 18x9+35 without issue.

I going to recheck the offset and stamping on the wheels to be sure they are indeed +35.

There is about 15mm clearance inside to the strut which makes sense on a 9" wide +35. (I heard that a +45 almost hits the struts)

I guess we'll see.

Make sure you have the front and rear input correctly bc the rear has more clearance room

Just finished installing Eibach Sport lines last night.. 265/35 18x9.5+45 r and 245/35 18x8.5+45 f. Fits great turns lock to lock no issues.

Question. I could only feel the gap between the strut and rim when at full lock and it was SMALL. Like 5-10mm... Does this gap change when the wheels are pointing straight forward?

Its not rubbing at all.. Does this gap ever change? My only concern.

Front= 18x9.5
Rear= 18x10

Tires wise I want the stretch (not too stretched) and poke look as I am lowering my car about 1.5-2"

Not sure if I should go 235 on the tire.

Not sure about offset either.. 40?

I dont want negative camber, I MIGHT be able to stand -1. But mostly going for flush.

Don't know if I am forgetting anything..

Just a follow-up to my post from a few days ago, I tested fitted my wheels again this time on both front and rear. (18x9 +35)

To give you a visual of how much camber you gain with crash bolts on the front suspension, here are some before/after shots. I didn't actually use crash bolts, I just pulled the OEM upper bolt out enough that the larger shank was out.

First 2 pics are before, next 2 are after the camber bolt adjustment. Spring is compressed to stock height both times for proper reference.

End result is that it will fit with the crash bolt installed.
Lowering springs should add a bit more camber that will also help for clearance. (ProKit on the way)

Should I go with a 17x8 or 17x9 wheel?

I plan to buy wheels soon, and I would like to see some opinions to help me decide which to choose. Tires will be Nitto NT05 in 235/40/17. The measure rim size is 8.5, and this would be ideal, but I can't find any inexpensive, lightweight (<16lbs) rims in 17x8.5, so do I go 17x8 or 17x9?

My priority is quick times and longer tire wear for the track. I may do an autocross or two this summer, but not seriously, so this is not a priority. I chose a 235 tire because my engine is currently stock and I think the extra weight and diameter (and expense) of a 245 would be too much. Nitto because I can get them really cheap and they are very light weight. I realize that the NT01 would be better for the track, but I need to be able to use the tire in (light) rain and on the street as well.

It is also important that the wheel fits the AP Racing Sprint brake kit, as I plan on this in the future. This is a bit of a non-issue though as all of the wheels I have found that fit my other criteria also clear the AP brake kit.

17x8
There are several good choices of wheels in this size:
Kosei K4R 17x8, 36mm offset, 15.8 lbs
Enkei RPF1 17x8, 45mm offset, 15.6 lbs
O.Z. Alleggerita HLT 17x8, 48mm offset, 15.8 lbs

The advantage of going with this size wheel is that I could use a 225 tire in the future without too much stretch. There are very few tires in 235/40/17; the 225/45/17 is much more common and could be less expensive. I like the looks of the OZ best (see here http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...lleggerita+235), but I like the price of the Kosei. Also, I prefer the offset of the Enkei and OZ.

17x9
I have only found one choice:
Enkei RPF1 17x9, 45mm offset, 15.8 lbs

The advantage here is perhaps better handling by stretching the sidewall a little more. Also, if I later add power (turbo???), it would be easier to fit a 245 or even a 255 to this rim.

Which would you choose? Help me decide.

17x9 use 245 40 and your speedometer should be mostly accurate still too.

You can see my 17x9et35 RPF1s with 245/40R17 Z2s in my build thread. The normal RPF1s are 17x9et45. These will be REAL close to the stock struts with or without lowering springs (RCE) and camber bolts (Whiteline). If you are running coilovers there probably won't be any clearance issues with the 45 offset 17x9 RPF1s.

I AutoX on my setup and can say that 17x9 with 245/40R17 is awesome on this car.

You say that 17x9et45 are close, but what about 18x9et45?

Would be the same, the offset and width are issue you would want something like a +35 or +38 on stock suspension or drop springs.
