Been following since the get go as well...surprised my user name was available. I was in the market for a new car last november and thought I could hold out for an 86....turns out I couldn't and ended up picking a 2010 civic Si sedan (great ride) but wish I held out now. I'll be upgrading in a couple of years...can't wait to see how these perform tuned.

Standing up in the back of the room and raising his hand..
Just as the tittle says. I'm a Noob...Found out about the car a few days ago and started on the hunt to find out more, that's why I'm here.. Been looking at the BRZ and found out that it was all breaking right now.. Here in LA for the FR-S and over in Japan for the Suburur's BRZ.. I'm a forums Junkie (have been for years.) when it comes to topics I'm interested in. This is the sort of place were you learn and grow from other's, that usually know way more on the subjects then I do. Thanks for all the help and allowing me to join in on the fun.. Yours through the screen MarkWF1

Hi all! I've been following the development of this car from the earliest rumors, and now that it has been unveiled I'm pretty sure that one of the Subaru/Scion twins will end up in my garage as a replacement for my aging 2.5RS. I can't wait to test drive one!

Thinking of buying a new car for the first time in 10 years. Last time was an '01 GTI VR6 that was so underwhelming that I sold it after 6 months.
I am looking to cut my payments from my current Porsche since I'm in law school now (bought it before I knew I'd be going). Can't wait to drive one. Sounds like it might be a suitable replacement... Hopefully along the lines of my E36 M3 in terms of feel.

Hey guys and gals,
I'm here to learn about the Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ and have been waiting quite a while for this car to arrive. I'm more eager to purchase a turbocharged variant in the future, but have to start somewhere. Thanks for the information on this site, and best wishes to you all in your pursuit of automotive bliss.

Hello to all
Sup everyone. I'll be in the new car market within a few months & I'm undecided on what I should get. I'm considering FR-S, BRZ, 370z, BMW 3 series coupe or Audi A5.
Whichever I choose, I'm just glad I'm returning to manual transmission

So as I was looking through the threads I realized that I have never posted here. I've been an official member since July, but I've been checking the forums since early 2011.
I am currently an undergraduate student at UC Berkeley (planning to go to law school after). I am very proud of the fact that I paid for my first new car by myself. I love my tC, but its time to step it up and get something more serious. I will most likely be trading it in/selling it, so I can get a FireStorm (red) FR-S, so here are some pics before it has to go: ![]() ![]() Sorry for the crappy pics, but they were taken back in the day when I still had my iPhone 3gs |

Hi, long time lurker, first time poster.
From Sydney, Australia. Drive a '98 ST204. Buying an 86 mid next year (like everyone else here I guess!), as long as its not over $40k drive away. *Putting on flame-suit* Why would I spend $40+ on the 86 when I could buy a WRX or later model 350Z for less? Lets be honest here, they're both direct competitors. If anyone wants to skip the "omg ur missing the point of this car" flame war, I'll tell you why. Last edited by Palmy; 12-02-2011 at 02:09 AM. |

Guess I should say Hi. My first post got flamed, but it's okay. Been through a lot worse.
I was on the car forums back in 1999 and bought a Toyota MR-S the first week it came out. Made some parts for it under the "Pelican Racing" name and still use that handle on Subaru forums and others. In 2009 I started a car company and built a prototype in 9 months. Jay Leno drove it and you can see the video at www.bit.ly/prong. Sold that company in June. I've been lurking on this forum since the early days, but never thought I'd actually buy one. But now with the pricing info out, and it looking close enough to the concept, I'm definitely getting a BRZ. Hope to meet some of you in person when we all get our cars, because that's ultimately what it's all about. Cheers, Hong |
