Hi guys,
I'm getting the stage 3 kit soon and I'm at the point of deciding if I should go with the AVO fuel pump and AVO injectors or DW fuel pump and ID injectors. Can anyone explain the advantage of using the AVO fuel pump and injectors compared to other brands? I see that the AVO injectors have been modified with longer injector outlets and the fuel pump has been tailored to our specific car. I would like to know why this is of benefit as I see many other people running other brands of injectors and fuel pumps with this kit. I highly respect AVO and their work so I am sure they have done this for a reason, but that reason I just cannot understand. I know the modified injectors inject more efficiently with our direct injection engines, but other people aren't using these injectors and those setups still seem to be performing well. It's the same story with the fuel pump. Other brands suffice, but what is the advantage of using the modified AVO fuel pump (besides ease of installation)? Thanks in advance! |

The injectors that you're replacing are the port injectors, not the direct ones. The longer necks are meant to be similar to the OEM setup. Is there an advantage? Probably. Is it worth it? If there were more offerings with the long necks, I would think maybe there was some kind of glaring advantage. They are double and triple the cost of other injectors on the market and I've never heard of anyone running them. The injector market seems to be dominated by ID, DW, etc.
I can't comment on the fuel pump, but AVO tends to offer parts built specifically for the platform so I'm assuming the main benefit is what you mentioned. Perfect fit and ease of installation. I ended up going with the Full Blown fuel pump kit because it offered the same ease of installation but with a pump that I will never need to replace. Here's a side by side of the DW's and the OEM

Thanks for your reply protpibe!
I guess I'll be sticking to my plan and going for the stage 3 with ID injectors and DW fuel pump to save some $$$. Can you recommend what size injectors and fuel pump would best suit? I'm looking for around 350-400hp on E85. Also, does the base tune included with this kit suit E85 as well? |

I don't have any experience with E85 since we can't get it here, however, I'm guessing you would need somewhere in the neighborhood of 700cc. For fuel pump I would spend the extra $100 or $150 or so and get the Full Blown Motorsports setup over the DW.
http://fullblownmotorsports.com/full...-fuel-pump-kit It's a warlbro 485 which is way more than enough for what you need, but it installs nice and is good quality @FullBlown

I maxed my dw700 injectors on e85 at 400whp with this kit. I'd run 700-1000's

Thanks guys. I'm in Australia so I'm not sure about the FBM fuel pump. I'm not too keen to internationally ship an item for warranty purposes etc. So, I guess I'm now considering the ID 850 injectors and DW65C fuel pump. Any comments regarding this setup?
Also, I've already got a 2.5 inch Perrin resonated CBE on my car (was initially going the SC route). I'll be running the 3 inch AVO front pipe etc but I'm considering keeping my current CBE. Is it possible (is there a way I can get them to join up) and if so, how much hp do you think I'll be sacrificing by keeping the 2.5 inch CBE? |

I picked up about 25whp by going to a single 3" exhaust (with 2.5" overpipe). I had a perrin 2.5 non res before the 3". I made 399whp/258tq on e85 at 19psi with the base kit plus these things. I made 300whp on 93 octane at 10psi
Full blown 3" single exhaust Avo 2.5 over pipe Dw700 Dw65 fuel pump Boost solenoid 3 bar map sensor K&N drop in air filter 8psi wastegate upgrade Flex fuel |

nice numbers there spitfire481, very nice!
Does anyone know if it's possible with the stage 3 kit to pipe the wastegate back into the exhaust? In order to get the AVO kit legally complied, I need it to not vent to atmosphere. |

The AVO turbo has an internal wastegate so it's already integrated into the downpipe.

The AVO kit also comes with a BPV I believe that is also not vent to atmosphere by default.

No BPV or BOV, whatever option you choose needs to be added on top of the kit, at least that's the way it was a few weeks ago don't know if it has changed.

So it comes like the GReddy kit by default with no way of releasing boost when letting off the throttle. The BPV they sell does get routed back into the intake though right?

The BPV they sell yes, 100% recirculate. Very similar to a EVO stock BPV if not the same.
