Anyone ever get a nice pair of driving gloves? If so, how'd you store them when not using them?
I took advantage of the amazing yen to usd conversion rate last week and got a really nice pair made in Japan with deer skin leather. Can post pics later. I don't feel comfortable leaving them in the car exposed to the elements but even at home feel like they should be somewhat protected. Never had nice gloves before.

Wash them with your whites, and make sure you use high heat setting on the dryer. Otherwise, they'll get mildew.

I did have driving gloves at one point I left them out in the car and didn't take care of them and I recommend not doing what I did if you want them to stay in good shape and last for more than a few years.

My last pair of driving gloves were about 20 years old when the seams started coming apart. I haven't found a pair I like to replace them yet. RIP poor gloves.
I just wore them when driving. I'd leave them on the console or in the glove box so they were always handy. (I mean that's what a glove box is for, eh!) Photos are of me before and after my test drive in the Inazuma I owned for three days. |

I've got a pair of full finger fleece bicycle gloves for when the steering wheel and shift knob get too cold to hold on to without warming alternate hands under an armpit.
They stay folded in half in the bin behind the cupholder along with a microfiber shop towel. They've got screened on non-slip rubber bits like hospital socks. Held up well so far.

I only use one pair of gloves, and that's in the winter. They are actually glove liners. Just enough for frozen steering wheels. It's about time to dig them out for winter.
